Kinasewich selected CHL Player of the Week
Ryan Kinasewich of the Tri-City Americans is the Canadian Hockey LeaguerPlayer of the Week for the week ending March 9, 2003. Each week during therregular season a CHL player of the week will be selected based on therplayers of the week from the CHL’s three member leagues.r
rIn four games last week Kinasewich recorded 17 points on five goals and 12rassists to extend his point scoring streak to 11 games. In the streak,rwhich began on February 18, Kinasewich has scored 14 goals and added 17rassists for 31 points. A highlight of the week for Kinasewich last week wasra three goal and five assist performance in the Americans’ 11-7 win over therPrince George Cougars on March 4. On the season Kinasewich, who is from St.rAlbert, Alberta, has recorded 83 points on 36 goals and 47 assists.r
rMatt Stajan of the Belleville Bulls is the Ontario Hockey League’s Player ofrthe Week for the week ending March 9. In four games last week Stajan, whorwas a member of Canada’s silver medal team at the 2003 World Junior HockeyrChampionships, recorded nine points on three goals and six assists.r
rThe Quebec Major Junior Hockey League’s Offensive Player of the Week is JeanrMichel Daoust of the Hull Olympiques. In four games last week Daoust scoredrfour goals and added seven assists for eleven points. The QMJHL’s DefensiverPlayer of the Week is goaltender Adam Russo of the Acadie-Bathurst Titan.rIn three games last week Russo posted two wins and ended the week with ar1.10 goals against average and a .963 save percentage.r
