PRINCE GEORGE, BC \u2013<\/strong> The Prince George Cougars<\/span><\/span> are pleased to announce the signing of forward Carson Janko (2010) to a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement.<\/p>\n

Janko was originally selected by the Cougars eighth overall in the 2024 WHL U.S. Priority Draft.<\/p>\n

The Highland Village, Texas product spent the 2025\u201326 season with the Dallas Stars Elite 16U AAA program, where he registered 34 points (10G\u201324A) in 50 games played.<\/p>\n

The 6-foot-3 defenceman from White Rock, BC spent the 2025-26 season with Delta Hockey Academy U15 Prep, where he recorded 25 points in 30 regular season games. He continued his strong play into the postseason, adding six points during the playoffs.<\/span><\/p>\n

Roberts also impressed at the U16 BC Cup, producing four goals and three assists in four games, showcasing his offensive ability from the backend.<\/span><\/p>\n

Regina, Sask. \u2014<\/strong> The Regina Pats have signed 2026 first-round pick Fletcher MacDonald to a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement.<\/p>\n

MacDonald made franchise history earlier this month when he was selected ninth overall by the Pats in the 2026 WHL Prospects Draft on May 6, becoming the highest-drafted goaltender in club history. He also became the first goaltender selected by Regina in the first round since Jordan Hollett was chosen 13th overall in 2014.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Regina Pats organization is very excited to have signed our first-round pick from the 2026 WHL Prospects Draft,\u201d said Regina Pats General Manager Dale Derkatch. \u201cWe believe Fletcher has a very bright future ahead of him, and we\u2019re confident he will bring stability to our goaltending position when he becomes a full-time player with the Pats.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 14-year-old netminder was also the highest-drafted goaltender selected in the WHL Prospects Draft since Taylor Gauthier was taken 10th overall by the Prince George Cougars in 2016. Prior to MacDonald, the last goaltender selected in the first round was Carter Esler, who went 23rd overall to the Spokane Chiefs in 2023. The last goaltender chosen ninth overall in the draft was Ian Scott by the Prince Albert Raiders in 2014.<\/p>\n

MacDonald spent the 2025-26 season with the Canadian Athletic Club U15 AA program in the AEHL, where he posted a 2.87 goals-against average, a .925 save percentage and one shutout across 28 games. The 6-foot-3, 199-pound goaltender from Edmonton was named to the AEHL U15 AA First All-Star Team following a standout season.<\/p>\n

Despite facing the most shots against in the entire league with 1,005, MacDonald consistently rose to the occasion, seeing 290 more shots than the next closest goaltender in the AEHL.<\/p>\n

MacDonald elevated his game even further in the postseason, recording a remarkable .969 save percentage in two playoff appearances while allowing just three goals over 120 minutes of action.<\/p>\n

On the provincial stage, MacDonald represented Team Alberta at the 2026 Alberta Cup, helping guide his team to a championship while earning First All-Star Team honours. In three tournament appearances, he posted a .942 save percentage.<\/p>\n

EVERETT, Wash. —<\/strong> The Everett Silvertips have signed 13th-overall pick Wyatt Bitz to a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement.<\/p>\n

Bitz, a 2011-born Saskatoon, SK native, spent the 2025-26 season with the Saskatoon Outlaws 15U AA where he recorded 18 goals and 35 assists for 53 points in 27 games played. He led all SAAHL U15 defensemen in points, and earned a 10-game call-up to the Saskatoon Contacts U18 AAA, where he had three assists.<\/p>\n

“I’m extremely excited to get picked by such an amazing organization,” commented Bitz. “I can’t wait to get started with the team and see what the future holds.”<\/p>\n

The 6-foot-1, 157-pound blueliner posted three goals and 28 assists in 27 games played with the Saskatoon Generals U15 AA in 2024-25.<\/p>\n

“We’re excited to have Wyatt and his family on board,” said general manager Mike Fraser. “We’re looking forward to him suiting up with us at training camp in August.”<\/p>\n

Montgomery is from Edmonton, AB and stands at 6\u20190\u201d and 175lbs. He played last season with OHA Edmonton U15 Prep team. In 30 games, he led his team in scoring with 21 goals, 42 assists and 63 points. He also added eight points in five games at the Alberta Cup in April.<\/p>\n

A defenseman from Saskatoon, Bubnick was chosen eleventh overall. He was the second of the Thunderbirds two first round selections. T-Birds assistant general manager Craig Goebel describes him as a big, solid defender who can play a shutdown role with his size, great stick and skating ability.<\/p>\n

Goebel added, \u201cWhen needed he can rush or pass the puck with accuracy out of his own zone. He just has a great presence out there.\u201d Bubnick spent last season with the SKU15 Saskatoon Generals, finishing with 43 points in 26 games.<\/p>\n

Lethbridge, AB – <\/strong>The Lethbridge Hurricanes Hockey Club have announced the signing of 2008-born forward Logan Stuart to a Western Hockey League Scholarship and Development Agreement.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt means a lot to sign with the Hurricanes, and I couldn\u2019t be more excited,\u201d said Stuart. \u201cI believe coming to Lethbridge is going to be what will prepare me the best for college hockey and beyond. I can\u2019t wait to get things started.\u201d<\/p>\n

Stuart, 18, was originally selected by the Hurricanes in the second-round (36th<\/sup> overall) in the 2023 WHL US Priority Draft. The Manhatten Beach, California, product spent the 2025-2026 season with the US National Team Development Program skating in a combined 80 regular season games amassing 45 points (13g-32a) along with 16 penalty minutes. Stuart amassed 15 points (3g-12a) along with a plus-11 rating with the USNTDP U18 team in United States Hockey League competition. He represented the USA at the 2025 CHL-USA Prospects Challenge where he appeared in three games recording one assist in both Calgary and Lethbridge helping Team USA to their first Prospects Challenge Championship.<\/p>\n

Stuart is ranked 127th<\/sup> overall among North American skaters for the 2026 NHL Entry Draft by the National Hockey League Central Scouting Service. In his WHL draft year, he racked up 68 points (36g-32a) along with six penalty minutes in just 27 regular season games with the Los Angeles Jr. Kings 14U AAA team.<\/p>\n

Portland, Ore.<\/b> – The Portland Winterhawks Hockey Club announced today the signing of forward Cullen Stephenson<\/a> to a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement.<\/p>\n

Stephenson, of Warman, Saskatchewan, was selected with the 10th overall pick in the first round of the 2026 WHL Prospects Draft. With his selection, Stephenson became the highest Winterhawks draft pick since 2009.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are thrilled to welcome Cullen Stephenson to Portland,\u201d Winterhawks President and General Manager Mike Johnston said. \u201cCullen is a leader on and off the ice. He is a highly-skilled player who we feel has the potential to be an impact player in this league.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

In 25 games with the Warman Wildcats U15 AA team, the 2011-born skater tallied an immense 88 points from 38 goals and 50 assists. The forward also suited up for the Moose Jaw Warriors U18 AAA side for two games \u2013 scoring twice and assisting once.<\/p>\n

“Matt Davidson was the one who said that he has a lot of similarities to Nate Danielson,” Head Saskatchewan Scout Darwin Bennett said. “Sven [B\u00e4rtschi] watched some tape and compared him to former teammate Ryan Johansen, so I think he’s that type of player for sure. He makes other players better, and he\u2019s got a high compete\u2026a real solid team player.\u201d<\/p>\n

Playing in the WHL runs in the Stephenson family; Cullen\u2019s father, Shay, won an Ed Chynoweth Cup and Memorial Cup as a member of the 2001 Red Deer Rebels.<\/p>\n
