2024 WHL High Performance Officiating Exposure Camp underway this weekend
The Western Hockey League’s High Performance Officiating Exposure Camp gets underway this evening, running from Friday, June 21 through Sunday, June 23.
With 91 officiating prospects from across Western Canada and the United States in attendance, participants will compete for future officiating opportunities in the WHL. Some officials in attendance will receive an invitation to attend the WHL Officiating Camps prior to the start of the 2024-25 season where they will compete for a spot on the WHL Officiating Team.
The three-day camp includes ice sessions, classroom sessions, fitness sessions, guest speakers, and presentations on many topics that are essential for success as an on-ice official.
The camp will provide officials with exposure to both WHL Officiating Coaches and NHL Officiating Managers who will be in attendance.
Following the 2023 WHL High Performance Officiating Exposure Camp, 14 participants graduated to earn spots on the WHL’s Officiating roster for the 2023-24 season.
The WHL High Performance Officiating Exposure Camp is an opportunity for officials to develop their officiating skills through instruction both on and off the ice. The camp is ideal for officials of all experience levels looking for opportunities to advance their officiating careers to higher levels of hockey, including the WHL.
