WHL Playoffs Top Performer: April 3, 2024
Kalan Lind has a flair for game-winning moments.
For the second time this series, the 19-year-old forward has stepped up and delivered for the Red Deer Rebels, recording the overtime winner on March 29, followed by a buzzer-beating, game-winning goal against the Medicine Hat Tigers on Wednesday.
With the score tied at two apiece and less than three seconds remaining on the clock, Lind trained his sights on a loose puck in the Tigers’ crease before jamming it into the wide-open cage.

The goal, which came at the 19:58 mark in the third period, catapulted the Rebels to a 3-1 series lead over the Tigers.
Lind’s first game-winning goal — scored last Friday — followed a similar suit to his most recent feat. Alone in the Tigers’ slot, Lind fired home a loose puck past netminder Ethan McCallum, 1:15 into the second overtime period.

Lind now leads the entire Rebels roster with five points (two goals—three assists) in his four appearances at the 2024 WHL Playoffs.
Selected in the second round (46th overall) by the Nashville Predators at the 2023 NHL Draft in June, Lind’s nose for the net is a highly-valued asset by the Rebels and the Predators.
Through 24 career playoff games, Lind has collected five goals and 11 assists for 16 points.
Lind and the Rebels will now look to close up their first-round series on Friday night, as they return to Medicine Hat for Game 5. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m. MT.
