Western Hockey League mourns passing of David Reekie
The Western Hockey League is mourning the passing of former Everett Silvertips and Regina Pats goaltender David Reekie.
Reekie passed away October 29 at the age of 38.
Selected by the Kamloops Blazers in the 10th round (186th overall) of the 2002 WHL Draft, Reekie went on to play 121 career WHL regular season games over three seasons split between the Silvertips and Pats.
Reekie made his WHL debut with the Pats in 2004-05, appearing in 35 games. He went on to play in 55 games the next season, going 31-18-3. During the 2006-07 season, Reekie split time with the Pats and Silvertips, going 21-9-0 to finish his WHL career. He recorded 20 wins in Everett, helping the Silvertips claim the Scotty Munro Memorial Trophy as WHL Regular Season Champions.
