VP Sports & Entertainment presents: Oil Kings forward Holinka signs entry-level contract with Maple Leafs
Welcome to the 6ix, Miroslav!
Today, Edmonton Oil Kings forward Miroslav Holinka put pen to paper, inking a three-year, entry-level contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
In just his first season in the Western League, the budding ‘Bud’ quickly became a staple on the Oil Kings roster. With 45 points (19 G-26 A) in 47 skates with Edmonton, Holinka spent his first campaign with Edmonton as a consistent producer for the Central Division Club.
His points-per-game average of 0.96 and his +12 rating placed him third among Oil Kings skaters, while his 19-goal, 26-assist campaign kept him well-within the team’s top-10 leaderboard.

The 19-year-old rookie was also monumental in the Oil Kings’ 2025 WHL Playoffs performance, starring in all seven first-round meetings against Prince Albert. And, although point-less in the series, the Zlin, Czechia local logged 13 shots on goal and 33 face-off wins for the Oil Kings.
Nabbed in the fifth round of the 2024 NHL Draft by the Maple Leafs, Holinka joined the Oil Kings roster following his selection during the 2024 CHL Import Draft. It was at the CHL’s annual import draft where Holinka was taken with the 14th-overall pick by Edmonton.
Expecting his return to The Kingdom for the 2025-26 WHL Season, Holinka is set to join a rather large European contingency on the Oil Kings roster alongside St. Louis Blues prospect Adam Jecho and Avalanche prospect Max Curran.
