Twenty-six Western Hockey League prospects to participate in 2025 TELUS Cup
Chilliwack, B.C.- Twenty-six current Western Hockey League prospects and a slew of up-and-comers are set to battle for U18AAA supremacy at the 2025 TELUS Cup.
The Canada men’s U18 national championship will see five teams go head-to-head at the Chilliwack Coliseum, the future home of the WHL’s newest franchise, which is expected to launch in 2026-27.
The host Fraser Valley Thunderbirds will go up against the Okanagan Rockets (Pacific), Regina Pat Canadians (West), Elgin Middlesex Canucks (Central) Chevaliers de Levis (Quebec) and Moncton Flyers (Atlantic).
Current NHL stars and WHL alumni like Stanley Cup Champions Mark Stone, Sam Reinhart and Luke Schenn have all competed at the event.
Fifteen WHL clubs have prospects competing at the event, with the Vancouver Giants leading the way with five previous draft selections and listed players taking part.
Fans will be eager to get a glimpse of Regina Pat Canadians star and projected high-end 2025 WHL Prospects Draft-eligible Maddox Schultz, who led the entire Saskatchewan Male U18 AAA Hockey League in scoring as a 14-year-old rookie with 93 points (43G-50A) in 44 regular-season games.
Maddox Schultz has been dreaming of hearing his name called at the #WHLDraft since he was a kid.
