Top 2025 NHL Draft prospect Fiddler named to U.S. National Junior Team Preliminary Roster
Edmonton, Alta.- Edmonton Oil Kings defenceman Blake Fiddler has been tapped to potentially help USA Hockey defend gold at the 2025 IIHF World Junior Championship.
The top 2025 NHL Draft prospect is among 28 players- and the only WHLer- to be named to the U.S. National Junior Team Preliminary Roster in hopes of earning one of 25 final roster spots.
Fiddler is coming off a strong showing at the 2024 CHL USA Prospects Challenge, which saw team CHL sweep both matches in Ontario last week.
The 6-foot-4, 210-pound blueliner has four goals and seven assists for 11 points and a +5 rating through 24 tilts with the Oil Kings this season.
NHL Central Scouting has projected Fiddler as a potential first-round pick at the 2025 NHL Draft.
The Frisco, Texas product has dual citizenship and has previously represented Canada at the World U17 Hockey Challenge and captained the United States at last summer’s Hlinka Gretzky Cup.
You don't just get an 'A' rating for nothing.
