Tigers’ Hollweg named WHL Player of the Week
Calgary, Alta. – The Sprint Canada – Western Hockey League Player of the Week is rookie forward Ryan Hollweg of the Medicine Hat Tigers. Hollweg earned player of the week honours by recording seven points (2G-5A) in three games.
Hollweg began the week on Friday, March 24, scoring two goals, including the game winner in a 5-4 overtime win against the Lethbridge Hurricanes. On Saturday, March 25, Hollweg recorded four assists in a 6-4 victory against the visiting Hurricanes.
On Sunday, March 26th, Hollweg earned an assist in a 4-3 loss to the Broncos in Swift Current Broncos.
The 16-year-old from Langley, British Columbia finished the season with 46 points (19G-27A) in 54 games. Hollweg is eligible for the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.
As the Sprint Canada – WHL Player of the Week, Hollweg will receive a golf pull-over courtesy of Sprint Canada.
