Medicine Hat Tigers Captain Oasiz Wiesblatt has signed a three-year deal with the American Hockey League’s Milwaukee Admirals, the affiliate of the NHL’s Nashville Predators.
The contract takes effect in the 2025-26 season.
Wieblatt’s older brother, 2019 WHL Champion Ozzy Wiesblatt, is also under contract with the Admirals.
Oasiz, 21, is in his final season of WHL eligibility and has more than made the most of it with his first 100-point season.
The 5-foot-9, 183-pound centreman put up 36 goals and 67 assists for 103 points in 66 games, sitting fifth in the WHL scoring race while clocking in at second in penalty minutes (148).
Wiesblatt helped his squad lock down the Central Division title and the first seed in the Eastern Conference, while being named to the WHL Eastern Conference Second All-Star Team.
The Tigers chose Wiesblatt with the 12th overall pick in the 2019 WHL Prospects Draft.
He’s piled up 101 goals and 187 assists for 288 points over 284 regular-season games and has also attended camps with the Columbus Blue Jackets and Washington Capitals.
Wiesblatt has also been a force in his third trip to the WHL Playoffs with 13 goals (including three game-winners and a hat trick) and 11 assists for 24 points in 11 games. He’s yet to be held off the scoresheet this postseason.
His Tigers currently lead the rival Lethbridge Hurricanes 2-0 in the 2025 WHL Eastern Conference Championship.
Medicine Hat will try to take a stranglehold on the series when they hit the ice for Game 3 in Lethbridge on Tuesday, April 29 at 7:00 p.m. MST.
