Raiders sign defenceman Cedricson Okitundu
Prince Albert, Sask. – The Prince Albert Raiders are pleased to announce the signing of 20-year-old defenceman Cedricson Okitundu.
Okitundu, from Ottawa, ON, played for the Brantford Bulldogs in the OHL last year, and was let go from the team after clearing waivers.
“Cedricson is a stay-at-home, veteran defenceman,” Raiders general manager Curtis Hunt said. “We feel that with players away at camp and uncertainty in the overage position, that to support our group, Cedricson would be a good fit. He brings in experience to an otherwise very young defensive core. We are very excited to welcome him.”
In 43 games with the Bulldogs in 2023-24, Okitundu scored five goals and added three assists for eight points. He also tallied 50 penalty minutes.
The Raiders will be without some of their veteran players to start the season, as Tomas Mrsic, Norwin Panocha, and Lukas Dragicevic are away at NHL camps. Krzysztof Macias is at AHL camp with the Charlotte Checkers.
