Raiders, Rebels complete trade involving forwards Evan Smith and Cole Peardon
Calgary, Alta. – The Red Deer Rebels and Prince Albert Raiders have completed a trade involving the swap of 2006-born forwards, Cole Peardon and Evan Smith.
Smith, from Kamloops, BC, is in his second WHL season. Through 28 games, the right-handed shooter has a goal and four assists with 18 penalty minutes. In 57 games last year, he scored three goals and added one assist. Smith was selected by the Rebels in round five, 95th overall at the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft.
Peardon, in his third WHL season, was a first-round pick by the Raiders in the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft. In 126 career games with Prince Albert, the Oulook, SK product scored 10 goals and had 17 assists for 27 points.
Peardon, from Outlook, SK, was selected 13th overall by Prince Albert in round one of the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft. He has three points (one goal, two assists) in 16 games with the Raiders this season, and 27 points in 126 games for his career.
