Oil Kings netminder Worthington signs two-year deal with Winnipeg Jets’ AHL affiliate
Edmonton Oil Kings goaltender Alex Worthington has signed a two-year contract with the Manitoba Moose, the American Hockey League affiliate of the Winnipeg Jets.
The 20-year-old is currently attending Winnipeg Jets development camp for a second time
Worthington posted a 22-18-0-2 record in 2024-25 with a 2.99 goals-against average, a .902 save percentage and one shutout to help the Oil Kings return to the WHL Playoffs for the first time since winning it all in 2021-22.

He netted his first career shutout with a 26-save effort in a 5-0 win over the Red Deer Rebels in Edmonton’s Teddy Bear Toss game on November 24, 2024.
The 6-foot-3, 178-pound netminder was originally drafted by Edmonton in the fifth round of the 2020 WHL Prospects Draft.
He made six appearances with the Oil Kings before taking a season off to compete with the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference’s Briercrest College in 2023-24 before returning to the Western League.
Worthington graduates from the Oil Kings with a 23-23-0-2 record, a 3.25 goals-against average, an .895 save percentage and one shutout.
