ICE’s Comrie and Stoll named WHL Player of the Week
Calgary – The Bank of Montreal MasterCard – Western Hockey League Player of the Week are line mates Mike Comrie and Jarret Stoll of the Kootenay ICE. Comrie and Stoll earned player of the week honours by recording 12 points each in four road games. Comrie recorded six goals and six assists while Stoll scored five goals and seven assists.
Comrie scored two goals and one assist while Stoll earned a goal and an assist in a 5-2 win against the Prince Albert Raiders on Wednesday, October 4. On Friday, October 6, Stoll scored a goal and an assist while Comrie added one goal in a 7-3 victory against the Saskatoon Blades.
On Saturday, October 8, Stoll earned two goals and two assists while Comrie scored a goal and two assists in a 6-5 overtime loss to the Moose Jaw Warriors. On Monday, October 9, against the Swift Current Broncos, Comrie recorded two goals and three assists while Stoll scored a goal and three assists in a 7-5 win.
Rookie Mike Comrie, a 20-year-old draft choice of the Edmonton Oilers from Edmonton, Alta. and Jarret Stoll, an 18-year-old draft choice of the Calgary Flames from Saskatoon, Sask. are currently on nine-and-seven-game points streaks respectively.
