Hunt signs with Warriors
Moose Jaw Warriors General Manager Alan Millar has announced that 2017 WHL first round draft pick Daemon Hunt has committed to the Warriors and the WHL with the signing of a Standard Player Agreement.
The 6-foot-0, 190-pound defenseman was selected by the Warriors with the 15th overall pick at the 2017 WHL Bantam Draft.
A Brandon, Man. product, Hunt played last season with the Brandon AAA Wheat Kings in the Winnipeg Bantam Division 1 league where he notched 60 points (22 goals, 38 assists) in 36 games.
“We are thrilled with Daemon and his families’ commitment to the Warriors and the WHL,” commented General Manager Alan Millar. “He is a smart, skilled young defenseman with a bright future.”
Hunt will look to make his Warriors debut Tuesday when the team opens the 2017 WHL Pre Season against the Swift Current Broncos in their annual Rookie Game. Admission for the game is by monetary donation for the Canadian Mental Health Association in memory of Ethan Williams.
