Giants forward Muranov commits to Niagara University
Langley, B.C.- Vancouver Giants forward Maxim Muranov has announced his commitment to Niagara University.
The 20-year-old is expected to join the Purple Eagles for the 2025-26 season upon the conclusion of his WHL eligibility.
Muranov, from Moscow, Rus., has 12 goals and 18 assists for 30 points and a +18 rating in 39 games this season.

He’s registered seven multi-point contests and two game-winning goals.
Originally selected by the Calgary Hitmen with the 35th overall pick in the 2021 CHL Import Draft, Muranov has played four seasons in the Western Hockey League.
The 6-foot-2.5, 185-pound winger has racked up 45 goals and 76 assists for 121 points in 215 regular season games, in addition to another two goals in four playoff appearances.
Muranov was briefly traded to the Wenatchee Wild as part of the Daniel Hauser trade before finding a landing spot in Vancouver, where he’s thrived as a member of the Giants.

He already has four goals and an assist with the Giants, highlighted by a pair of goals against the Prince George Cougars on January 8.
Vancouver (22-16-5-0) is riding a 3-0-1-0 point streak to sit third in the B.C. Division.
The Giants hit the road to face the Seattle Thunderbirds (14-26-2-1) on Tuesday, January 21 at 7:05 p.m. PST.
