Giants add 2025 WHL Champion Volotovskii from Tigers as 2026 WHL Trade Deadline approaches
Langley, B.C.- The Vancouver Giants are bringing in championship experience with the addition of 20-year-old forward Misha Volotovskii.
The Medicine Hat Tigers will receive a third-round pick in the 2026 WHL Prospects Draft and a fifth-round pick in 2029 in return.
Volotovskii, a 6-foot-2, 189-pound centreman, has racked up 11 goals and 14 assists for 25 points in 36 matches this season, while leading the Tigers in faceoff wins with 316 (51.1%).

The Calgary, Alta. product arrived in Medicine Hat from Saskatoon as part of the blockbuster package headlined by Nashville Predators prospect Tanner Molendyk at the 2025 WHL Trade Deadline.
Volotovskii netted six points (3G-3A) in 17 games to help the Tigers hoist the Ed Chynoweth Cup last spring, registered an assist in four games to reach the 2025 Memorial Cup final and was named an alternate captain for 2025-26.
Originally drafted by the Blades with the 77th overall pick in the 2020 WHL Prospects Draft, Volotovskii has scored 34 goals and 38 assists for 72 points in 260 career games.
He also had five points (1G-4A) to reach the 2024 WHL Eastern Conference Championship with the regular-season champion Blades.
Vancouver has made several splashy deals at the 2026 WHL Trade Deadline, bringing in the likes of Los Angeles Kings defensive prospect Will Sharp, top 2026 NHL Draft-eligible forwards Mathis Preston and Joe Iginla and hometown boy Kaleb Hartmann.
The Giants (16-22-1-1) are preparing for a weekend homestand, starting with a tilt against Columbus Blue Jackets prospect Charlie Elick and the Tri-City Americans (20-15-2-0) on Friday, January 9, at 7:00 p.m. PST.
The 2026 WHL Trade Deadline is set for Thursday, January 8, at 6:00 p.m. MT.
