Garrett’s second career WHL shutout lifts Silvertips past Hurricanes in Wednesday Night in the Dub
Everett, Wash.- The Everett Silvertips are in the business of scoring goals- not letting them in.
Netminder Alex Garrett posted a 33-save shutout as the Tips dominated special teams in a 4-0 win over the Central Division-leading Lethbridge Hurricanes in the second edition of Wednesday Night in the Dub.
Two NHL prospects found the back of the net for Everett, while top 2025 Draft prospect Carter Bear registered two assists and exceptional status blueliner Landon DuPont registered an assist.
Goaltenders Garrett and Lethbridge’s Brady Smith traded saves until the midway point of the second period when the Hurricanes set up for their first powerplay of the night.

But things wouldn’t go to plan for Lethbridge as Tips veteran Jesse Heslop picked off a Canes pass and burst into the offensive zone for a shorthanded breakaway and the first goal of the game.

The 18-year-old sits second on the Silvertips in goals with his 14th of the campaign.
Heslop’s tally seemed to open the floodgates as 16-year-old Caine Wilke added to the lead just three minutes later with a precision wrister from above the hash marks.
The Silvertips continued to find new ways to score on the powerplay as 2027 Draft-eligible Landon DuPont teed up Calgary Flames prospect Eric Jamieson for a powerplay blast at 3-0 lead after 40 minutes.
Finnish force Julius Miettinen joined the party early in the third as the Silvertips continued their special teams dominance.
The Seattle Kraken prospect won a faceoff and top 2025 NHL Draft prospect Carter Bear slid the puck back to Dominik Rymon for a one-timer attempt.
Miettinen drove the net to pick up the rebound and tuck it past Smith to cap the scoring at 4-0.

Garrett, a first-year Tips player, denied all 33 shots faced and held the Hurricanes scoreless on two powerplay attempts.
At the other end of the ice, Smith turned in a commendable performance by turning aside 28 of 32 shots.
Rookie Chase Petersen led the charge for Lethbridge with five shots on net, while Nashville Predators prospect Miguel Marques and alternate captain Brayden Edwards were right behind with four shots each.
Garrett snagged first star honours, with Bear and Jamieson rounding out the evening’s honorees.
