Former WHL Champion Schuurman commits to Colorado College
Clutch forward Brayden Schuurman will continue his hockey career with Colorado College.
The 21-year-old graduating player will join the Tigers for the 2025-26 season.
Schuurman played a key role for the Moose Jaw Warriors in the team’s first-ever WHL Championship in 2024.
The 5-foot-9, 198-pound centreman logged seven goals and two assists for nine points in 20 games in the 2024 WHL Playoffs, highlighted by back-to-back game-winning goals in Games 3 and 4 to complete a sweep against Portland in the Championship Series.

Schuurman has suited up for more than 200 games with the Victoria Royals, Moose Jaw Warriors, and, most recently, the Seattle Thunderbirds, potting 180 career points (83G-97A).
The Abbotsford, B.C. product began his WHL career with the Victoria Royals after he was selected in the fourth round of the 2019 WHL Prospects Draft.
He played parts of five seasons on Vancouver Island before being acquired by the Warriors in October of 2024, along with Anaheim Ducks prospect Kalem Parker.
After lifting the Ed Chynoweth Cup and suiting up for four games at the 2024 Memorial Cup, Schuurman became a highly sought-after veteran for teams looking to load up for another playoff push.
His final landing spot was with the 2023 WHL Champion Seattle Thunderbirds at the 2025 WHL Trade Deadline.
Schuurman averaged nearly a point per game with eight goals and 16 assists for 24 points in 26 games with the T-Birds, including a pair of game-winning goals.
Seattle was one of the strongest teams in the second half of the regular season, returning to the WHL Playoffs after a one-season absence and giving the regular-season champion Everett Silvertips all they could handle in a six-game battle in the first round.
Schuurmn had four goals and two assists in six games against the Silvertips to close out his WHL career.
