Colton played his rookie WHL season in the Bridge City during the shortened 2019-20 campaign. In 62 games, the Chicago Blackhawks second-round pick scored 11 goals and 29 points prior to the remainder of the season being canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Colton played 20 games for the Blades during the 2021 bubble season, scoring 11 goals and nine assists. The Blackhawks selected the 6-foot-4 forward 62nd overall in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft.
Colton spent the next season with the Kelowna Rockets, before winning a WHL Championship with the Seattle Thunderbirds in his last major junior season in 2022-23.
Kirby made the jump to the NHL ahead of his brother’s rookie season after the Blackhawks drafted him third overall at the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. Kirby played 133 career games with the Blue and Gold, scoring 38 goals and 91 assists for 129 points in his career. The 6-foot-3 forward stuck with the Blackhawks at 18 years old and has 249 career NHL games under his belt. On July 7, 2022, Kirby was traded to the Montreal Canadiens.
The brothers are expected to meet for the first time in the NHL tonight when the Canadiens visit the Blackhawks at 7:00 p.m. CST.
