He’s currently pacing the Broncos in goals and is tied for second in points.
The 5-foot-8, 160-pound winger was named Tempo WHL Player of the Week in early November amid an eight-game point streak that saw him tally 10 goals (including his first two WHL hat tricks) and eight helpers.
In 225 regular season WHL games, Birnie has 60 goals and 74 assists for 134 points, in addition to another three goals and an assist in the postseason.
The Broncos (13-6-0-0) are riding a five-game win streak and are 9-1-0-0 in their last ten outings to sit second in the East Division and third in the Eastern Conference.
Birnie and company are back in action on Tuesday, November 19 as they host the U.S. Division powerhouse Tri-City Americans.
