2026 WHL Playoffs: Clinching Scenarios – Friday, March 13

All eyes on the Western Conference!

Major league awards and critical playoff berths are up for grabs on Friday night.

• An Everett win of any kind at Penticton; AND
• A Prince Albert loss of any kind versus Moose Jaw

• An Everett OT/SO loss at Penticton; AND
• A Prince Albert regulation loss versus Moose Jaw

• A Kamloops win of any kind at Kelowna

• A Kamloops OT/SO loss at Kelowna; AND
• A Victoria regulation loss versus Vancouver

• A Victoria regulation loss versus Vancouver

• A Spokane win of any kind versus Seattle; AND
• A Victoria regulation loss versus Vancouver

Everett (52-7-2-1) is on the prowl for a second consecutive Scotty Munro Memorial Trophy as regular-season champions.

With a slew of NHL prospects that includes Detroit’s Carter Bear and Seattle’s Julius Miettinen and exceptional status sophomore Landon DuPont, the Silvertips have posted the club’s second 50-win season in franchise history and are two wins away from tying the franchise record of 54-15-1-2, which was set back in 2006-07.

But to lock down the Scotty on Friday night, Everett will need to tangle with the B.C. Division-leading Penticton Vees (41-13-5-4), who have set a WHL and CHL record for wins by an expansion team in its inaugural season with 41.

The Silvertips and Vees go head-to-head at the South Okanagan Events Centre at 7:05 p.m. PST.

Additionally, Everett will need to see the Moose Jaw Warriors (23-34-5-2) pull out a victory against the Eastern Conference-leading Prince Albert Raiders (47-10-5-1).

The Raiders are neck and neck with the Medicine Hat Tigers (46-10-5-3) for first seed in the conference, while Moose Jaw is tied with Red Deer for the eighth and final berth in the East.

That match will go down at Prince Albert’s Art Hauser Centre at 7:00 p.m. ST.

The Kamloops Blazers (29-22-7-5) can ensure their return to the WHL Playoffs for the first time since hosting the 2023 Memorial Cup with a win against their bitter rivals, the Kelowna Rockets (36-19-6-3).

Led by top 2026 NHL Draft-eligible forward JP Hurlbert and defenceman Harrison Brunicke, who made his NHL debut with Pittsburgh earlier this season, the Blazers are riding a three-game win streak as they roll into Prospera Place for a 7:05 p.m. PST showdown.

Should the Blazers lose in any fashion, they can also clinch by nature of a regulation Victoria Royals (26-28-6-3) loss to the Vancouver Giants (24-36-1-2).

The Royals will aim to wrangle the Giants and keep their playoff hopes alive with a win at 7:05 p.m. PST.

Meanwhile, the 2025 Championship finalist Spokane Chiefs will look for a return to the dance with a win in any fashion against the streaking Seattle Thunderbirds, who have points in six straight games.

The U.S. Division squads will fight for a win at Numerica Veterans Arena at 7:05 p.m. PST.
