2024-25 CHL Top-10 Rankings presented by Delta Hotels by Marriott: Week 11
Today, the Canadian Hockey League (CHL) announced the Week 11 edition of its CHL Top-10 Rankings for the 2024-25 season.
Having won 19 of their last 20 games, the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) rank first for the fourth straight week. Right behind them in second is the Everett Silvertips of the Western Hockey League (WHL), whose 51 points through 30 games are tied for the third-most of any WHL club over the last 10 years. Next, rounding out the top three, are the Drummondville Voltigeurs of the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL), who continue to rank first in the QMJHL’s overall standings.
Among some of the biggest changes in this week’s rankings were the rise of the Kitchener Rangers of the OHL and the entry of the Spokane Chiefs of the WHL into the rankings. Riding a six-game winning streak, the Rangers entered into the top five for the first time this season. Meanwhile, on the longest active winning streak in the CHL at nine games, the Chiefs are making their Top-10 debut of the season in ninth.
The next rankings will be released the week of December 18, following the 12th week of regular season action in all three member leagues of the CHL. Next week’s rankings will also be the last ones before the holiday break, as the CHL’s Member Leagues will kick start their holiday break between December 14-20 before returning to action later in the month.
CHL Top-10 Rankings – Week 11
1. London Knights (OHL): Although their 19-game winning streak, the longest in the CHL this season, came to a halt on Friday night, the London Knights (23-5-0-0) hold the top spot for the fourth week in a row. With 19 victories over the last 20 games, the Knights continue to rank first in the OHL’s overall standings. Their +53 goal differential is the best of any team in the OHL and trails only Everett (+71) in the CHL. They also hold arguably the best road record of any club in the CHL with a 13-1-0-0 record away from Canada Life Place in London. Over the last week, the Knights split their games – first shutting out the Owen Sound Attack 3-0 before falling to the Oshawa Generals 5-3 in a rematch of the 2024 OHL Championship Series. Goaltender Austin Elliott (11-0-0-0 record, 2.23 GAA, .914 SV%, 2 SO in 11 GP) remains unbeaten in the OHL, having secured his 11th victory and second career shutout against the Attack on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Easton Cowan (15G-13A in 20 GP) picked up a point in both of the Knights games to extend his regular season point streak to 56 games. This week, the Knights will be without four of their star players (Denver Barkey, Oliver Bonk, Easton Cowan, and Sam Dickinson) as they all head out to Canada’s National Junior Team Selection Camp. Without these four, the Knights will endeavour to beat the other two OHL teams ranked in the CHL Top-10 when they face the No.7-ranked Spitfires and the No.5-ranked Rangers this week.
Games this week: vs. Windsor (Dec. 13), @ Windsor (Dec. 14), vs. Kitchener (Dec. 15)
2. Everett Silvertips (WHL): Having earned a point in 13 straight games (11-0-1-1), the Everett Silvertips (24-3-2-1) are up two spots into second in this week’s Top-10 rankings. It’s the highest placing that the Silvertips have held this season, and it comes with good reason. Everett has the fewest regulation losses (3) of any club in the CHL during the 2024-25 campaign. Their +71 goal differential is the best of any team in the CHL, ahead of the next club by +18 (London Knights – +53). Plus, their 51 points through 30 games are tied for the third-most of any WHL club over the last 10 years. Over the last seven days, the Silvertips beat the Rockets (4-1), Thunderbirds (4-1), and Wild (3-0) by a combined score of 11-1. 2025 NHL Draft prospect Jesse Heslop (18G-12A in 30 GP) led all Silvertips in scoring over the last week, registering five points (2G-3A) in three games. Right behind him was 15-year-old rookie Landon DuPont (5G-23A in 26 GP), who nabbed four assists over that same stretch. DuPont’s 23 assists this season rank as the most of any WHL rookie, while his 28 points are second among that same group. One thing to watch will be the status of 2025 NHL Draft prospect Carter Bear (22G-24A in 26 GP), who was absent from the lineup on Saturday and Sunday. This week, Everett will face the Winterhawks, Wild, and the No.10-ranked Americans on home ice before shutting down for their holiday break.
Games this week: vs. Portland (Dec. 11), vs. Wenatchee (Dec. 13), vs. Tri-City (Dec. 14)
3. Drummondville Voltigeurs (QMJHL): With points in eight straight games (7-0-0-1), the Drummondville Voltigeurs (22-5-1-2) continue to rank among the top three for the seventh week in a row. With 47 points in 30 games this season, the Voltigeurs continue to stand in first place in the QMJHL’s overall standings. Their 2.50 goals allowed per game is the lowest of any team in the QMJHL, while their +41 goal differential ranks second behind only Moncton (+51). On pace for 60 goals, 20-year-old forward Sam Oliver (28G-11A in 30 GP) continued to find twine in the Voltigeurs’ two games last week. Thanks to his second hat-trick of the 2024-25 campaign, Oliver now leads the CHL with 28 goals on the year as he now has goals in five straight games. Meanwhile, set to join Canada’s National Junior Team Selection Camp alongside head coach Sylvain Favreau (who will serve as an assistant coach for Team Canada at the 2025 World Juniors), Tampa Bay Lightning prospect Ethan Gauthier (13G-22A in 24 GP) registered four points in Drummondville’s two contest last week. Gauthier is heading off to the selection camp having recorded points in seven straight games (4G-9A over that stretch), which includes five outings with two points or more. This week, in the absence of Favreau, Gauthier, and Téo Besnier (who will be captaining France at the 2025 IIHF World Championship Division 1), the Voltigeurs will welcome the Remparts and Phoenix to Drummondville before taking their holiday break until December 28.
Games this week: vs. Québec (Dec. 13), vs. Sherbrooke (Dec. 14)
4. Moncton Wildcats (QMJHL): With two wins in three games last week, the Moncton Wildcats (22-5-2-0) slipped a spot to fourth in this week’s CHL Top-10 Rankings. The Wildcats suffered their lone loss of the last seven days against the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies (4-1) on home ice at the Avenir Centre. Meanwhile, their victories against Halifax (3-2 OT) and Saint John (3-2) both came on the road, as Moncton improved its road record to an impressive 13-2-1-0. Their 13 road wins this season are tied for the most of any club in the CHL and lead the entire QMJHL. In their two victories away from home last week, 2025 NHL Draft prospect Caleb Desnoyers (15G-22A in 24 GP) led the way, registering a pair of multi-point games. Desnoyers now has one goal and five assists through four games in December. Meanwhile, St. Louis Blues prospect Juraj Pekarcik (11G-20A in 27 GP) also registered a pair of multi-point outings in both Wildcats’ victories last week. Pekarcik has been a force offensively, as he has recorded a point in 11 of his last 12 games and accrued 16 points (8G-8A) over that stretch. This week, Moncton will welcome the Titan and Eagles to the Avenir Centre before they start their holiday break.
Games this week: vs. Acadie-Bathurst (Dec. 13), vs. Cape-Breton (Dec. 14)
5. Kitchener Rangers (OHL): Riding a six-game winning streak, the Kitchener Rangers (21-5-2-1) have entered the top five for the first time this season. Over the last week, the Rangers went a perfect 3-0-0-0, besting the Bulldogs (6-3), Greyhounds (3-0), and the No. 7-ranked Spitfires (3-2 SO). The Rangers have now won eight of their last 10 games, with their last loss coming 18 days ago. Kitchener is one of just five teams in the CHL who have five regulation losses or fewer to their name during the 2024-25 campaign. Over the last seven days, goaltender Jackson Parsons (17-5-1-0 record, 2.05 GAA, .929 SV% & 4 SO in 23 GP) earned a victory in all three of the Rangers’ contests. The latter included stopping all 27 shots he faced against the Soo Greyhounds to pick up his CHL-best fourth shutout of the season. His performance over the last week earned him OHL Goaltender of the Week honours, having turned aside 83 of the 88 shots he faced in three starts. The 20-year-old goaltender now has wins in five straight starts dating back to November 23. Parsons’ 17 wins place him in a tie for first in the CHL, while his 2.05 GAA is the best of any netminder in the CHL (min. 600 minutes played). Meanwhile, Parsons’ .929 SV% is the best mark of any goalie in the OHL (min. 600 minutes played). This week, Kitchener will aim to extend its winning streak when they welcome the Frontenacs to the Aud before travelling to London for a top-five showdown against the Knights.
Games this week: vs. Kingston (Dec. 13), @ London (Dec. 15)
6. Rimouski Océanic (QMJHL): Having split their pair of games against the No.8-ranked Saguenéens this past weekend, the Rimouski Océanic (20-8-0-1) have slipped a place to find themselves in sixth in this week’s rankings. Along with the No.3-ranked Drummondville Voltigeurs, the Océanic are the only other QMJHL team to have won eight of their last 10 contests. If you go back a month, the 2025 Memorial Cup hosts have been victorious in 10 of 12 games, having won three contests against teams ranked in the CHL Top-10 Rankings (two wins vs. Chicoutimi and one vs. Drummondville). 19-year-old forward Maxime Coursol (11G-7A in 20 GP) was the lone Océanic skater to grab a point in both of Rimouski’s games last week, picking up a goal in both matchups against the Saguenéens on Friday and Saturday. 2026 NHL Draft prospect William Lacelle (11-1-0-1 record, 2.13 GAA, .915 SV%, 2 SO in 13 GP) picked his 11th win of the season in Rimouski’s Friday night 3-2 shootout victory over Chicoutimi. Lacelle’s 2.13 GAA ranks second in the QMJHL, trailing only Drumondville’s Riley Mercer (2.12). Additionally, Lacelle’s 11 victories in 2024-25 are the third-most of any QMJHL rookie netminder as he trails only Baie-Comeau’s Lucas Beckman (14) and Rouyn-Noranda’s Samuel Meloche (14), who have both played in 22+ games this season. This week, with star forward Mathieu Cataford (11G-27A in 27 GP) off to Canada’s National Junior Team Selection Camp, the Océanic will face the Drakkar for a pair of home games at the Colisée Financière Sun Life before they head on their holiday break.
Games this week: vs. Baie-Comeau (Dec. 13), vs. Baie-Comeau (Dec. 14)
7. Windsor Spitfires (OHL): Having split their contests over the last week, the Windsor Spitfires (20-6-2-1) are down one spot in this week’s rankings. Specifically, Windsor suffered a 3-2 shootout loss to the No.5-ranked Rangers on Saturday before rallying from a 3-0 deficit a day later in a 7-4 Spits’ victory over the Saginaw Spirit on Sunday. Having won 20 of their first 29 games this season, Windsor passed its win total from the 2023-24 season over the last week as they lead the OHL’s West Division. In their two contests last week, Washington Capitals prospect Ilya Protas (19G-22A in 26 GP) extended his point streak to seven games, which he has currently capped off with an impressive four-point effort (2G-2A) against the Spirit on Sunday. Over his last seven games, Protas has amassed 18 points (7G-11A), having scored a goal in five of his previous six outings. His 18 points since November 22 are tied for the most of any skater in the OHL alongside Oshawa’s Beckett Sennecke. Additionally, 2025 NHL Draft prospect Jack Nesbitt (12G-13A in 29 GP) continues to impress. The 17-year-old forward registered four points this past weekend, including a three-point effort (1G-2A) against the defending Memorial Cup champions on Sunday. This week, the Spitfires will be tested when they face the Otters and No.1-ranked Knights during a three-game stretch on consecutive nights starting on Thursday.
Games this week: vs. Erie (Dec. 12), @ London (Dec. 13), vs. London (Dec. 14)
8. Chicoutimi Saguenéens (QMJHL): Having picked up a point in both of their games against the No. 6-ranked Océanic this past weekend, the Chicoutimi Saguenéens (17-5-3-4) are one of two teams (along with the London Knights) whose position in the CHL Top-10 didn’t change over a week. Having lost 3-2 in a shootout on Friday to Rimouski before beating the Océanic 5-2 on Saturday in what was a two-game homestand, the Saguenéens remain unbeaten in regulation on home ice this season (10-0-2-3). They are one of only two teams in the CHL (along with the Saskatoon Blades) who have yet to lose in regulation at home this season. The Sags have also picked up a point in nine of their last 10 games (6-1-1-2) as they now sit tied with Rimouski at 41 points during the 2024-25 campaign. Over their four games in December, Chicoutimi captain Kassim Gaudet (8G-12A in 16 GP) has scored a goal in each of those games, including this incredible goal on Friday against Rimouski. Gaudet’s six goals in December are currently the most of any QMJHL skater. The 20-year-old is also currently on a six-game point streak, having collected eight points (5G-3A) over that stretch. Meanwhile, goaltender Raphaël Précourt (14-4-2-3 record, 2.62 GAA, .912 SV%, 2 SO in 23 GP) turned aside 52 of the 56 shots he faced this weekend. Précourt is now unbeaten in regulation over eight straight starts (5-0-1-2) dating back to November 16. This week, Chicoutimi will hit the road for matchups against the Armada and Remparts before they start their holiday break.
Games this week: @ Blainville-Boisbriand (Dec. 13), @ Québec (Dec. 14)
9. Spokane Chiefs (WHL): Powered by a nine-game winning streak, the longest active streak in the CHL, the Spokane Chiefs (21-9-0-0) have jumped into the CHL Top-10 Rankings for the first time this season. Coming in at ninth this week, Spokane is one of only two teams in the CHL (along with the London Knights) to have won nine of their last 10 games. Their recent stretch has pushed the Chiefs into second place in the WHL’s overall standings, where they trail only the Everett Silvertips. Over their nine-game winning streak dating back to November 16, Spokane has averaged 4.67 goals per game. Leading the charge offensively over that stretch has been none other than Seattle Kraken prospect Berkly Catton (14G-33A in 28 GP). Since November 16, Catton has collected 17 points (5G-12A) and he’s been held off the scoresheet only once over that stretch. The Seattle Kraken prospect currently ranks third in the WHL with 47 points. At the same time, Catton has had plenty of support, including from 2026 NHL Draft prospect Mathis Preston (11G-9A in 24 GP) and 20-year-old forward Shea Van Olm (26G-18A in 29 GP). Van Olm is averaging a goal per game during the Chiefs’ current winning streak, having scored nine goals in his last nine games. Van Olm also leads the WHL with 26 goals, which places him third among goal scorers in the CHL. Meanwhile, Preston has points in seven of his last eight outings, having registered 10 points (4G-6A) over that stretch of games. Preston’s 11 goals and 20 points place him among the top five rookie leaders in the WHL. This week, Spokane will look to extend its winning streak when they travel to Seattle to play the Thunderbirds on Friday, before returning home for a date with the Cougars on Saturday.
Games this week: @ Seattle (Dec. 13), vs. Prince George (Dec. 14)
10. Tri-City Americans (WHL): With only one overtime loss to the Vancouver Giants (3-2 OT) to their name last week, the Tri-City Americans (18-6-2-0) slipped one place to rank tenth in this week’s rankings. Tri-city has won 17 of their last 21 games, having picked up a point in 18 of those contests (which was their most recent loss to the Giants). Over that stretch of 21 games dating back to October 12, the Americans are a perfect 4-0-0-0 against teams currently ranked in the Top 10 (having beaten both Spokane and Everett twice). With Everett and Spokane sitting first and second in the WHL’s overall standings, the Americans are right behind them in third, as the WHL’s U.S. Division currently has the three top clubs in the Western Hockey League. In their lone game last week, 2025 NHL Draft prospect Gavin Garland (16G-15A in 25 GP) tallied the Americans’ only two goals against the Giants. Currently on a seven-game point streak, Garland continues to lead all WHL rookies with 16 goals and 31 points this season. This week, Tri-City will play a pair of home games against the Cougars and Rockets, before they’ll travel to Everett and Vancouver this weekend.
Games this week: vs. Prince George (Dec. 11), vs. Kelowna (Dec. 13), @ Everett (Dec. 14), @ Vancouver (Dec. 15)
