Fan Appreciation Night
Tonight’s all about the fans! The fun starts when doors open at 6pm, where fans can grab the final pack of Winterhawks trading cards from our friends at The Barbers. Miss any cards along the way? Hit the team store to purchase packs of cards from earlier in the year – including a select number of signed cards!
We’ll also have player-signed pucks and t-shirts to give away during the game, plus keep an eye on the jumbotron for the Hawks Hype Cam, powered by Michelob Ultra, in the first period! Fans can scan the QR code when it is presented to turn their phone into a fan cam, and one lucky fan who joins in will win SEASON TICKETS for the 2023-24 season!
Giant Slayers
After more than three months between games, Portland and Vancouver meet again to wrap up their season series. The Hawks are 2-1-0-0 against the Giants this year after notching back-to-back wins before the holiday break in December. Each game has been closely contested – the largest margin of victory was Vancouver’s 3-1 win on Nov. 27 – and both teams have shown an ability to keep up in a track meet or play a tight defensive battle.
Both teams enter tonight’s contest having lost two straight games, and both will want to hit the playoffs on a high note (more on that below). Look for a fast, physical start between these two clubs tonight.
The Final Countdown
We’re into the final week of the regular season, and the time for tune-ups is running out. The Hawks dropped a pair of games to Seattle last weekend and enter tonight’s tilt eager to get back in the win column before another back-to-back against the T-Birds this weekend. Despite the results, the Winterhawks know there are plenty of things to take away from every game at this time of year, especially against playoff-caliber competition like Vancouver tonight and Seattle again this weekend.
“I think we’re just worrying about the key details. I think when you get into the playoffs, every small detail is important. It’s going to be great that we play Seattle four times (in the last two weeks), it’s gonna keep us sharp and ready for when playoff time comes,” said Josh Zakreski after last Tuesday’s win.
