Big Weekend Ahead With Playoff Push, Promotions
The Portland Winterhawks will wrap up the 2015-16 season at home with two fun-filled promotional nights Friday and Sunday in the Moda Center with family fun that Hawks fans of all ages won’t want to miss:
FRIDAY: Portland vs. Spokane at 7 p.m.; H&R Block Dash for Cash (Click for tickets)
The Hawks need just one point from their remaining games to clinch a playoff berth, and a win over Spokane Friday would also clinch third place in the U.S. Division.
The game is one of the most important regular season games in years, and when Hawks players head to the locker room after the second period, it’ll be fans’ turn to star at center ice. The second intermission will be the H&R Block Dash for Cash, where 10,000 silver dollars are spread across the ice and contestants will have 90 seconds to scoop up as many as possible. A limited number of fans will win spots in the Dash for Cash at Friday’s game by signing up on the concourse.
SATURDAY: Portland @ Seattle at 7 p.m.; Televised live on Portland’s CW32
The Hawks’ final road game of the regular season will be seen live on Portland’s CW32. Todd Vrooman and Andy Johnson will call all the action as the Hawks look to defeat their I-5 rivals.
SUNDAY: Portland vs. Seattle at 5 p.m.; Team Awards, George Morlan Plumbing Supply Spa Giveaway, Jerseys off their Backs for Education (Click for tickets)
Sunday’s season finale against Thunderbirds will feature the annual team awards before the game. Fans will want to be in their seats early to see which player wins Team MVP, Rookie of the Year, and the other awards the team will present.
In addition, one fan will also have the chance to take home a Coleman Double Lounger Spa with a retail value of $7,995. One fan will be selected that night for the giveaway to participate in the George Morlan Plumbing Supplies Plinko game with the contestants who qualified over the course of the season.
After the game, fans can stay to watch the players give their game jerseys to select fans on the ice. The winners were drawn from those who purchased raffle tickets in the Oregon College Savings Plan Jerseys Off Their Backs For Education promotion. Since its inception the promotion has raised more than $60,000 for the player education fund to assist Winterhawks players who pursue post-secondary education.
