Wild Announce Signing of Cal Conway to Scholarship & Development Agreement
WENATCHEE, Wash. – The Wenatchee Wild, proud members of the Western Hockey League (WHL), are pleased to announce that 2007-born goaltender Cal Conway has signed a Scholarship & Development Agreement with the organization. A native of Andover, Minnesota, Conway comes to Wenatchee following a deep run in the Minnesota state tournament this spring with the Stillwater High School Ponies.
Conway guided Stillwater to its first state tournament berth since 2016, and nearly pushed the Ponies to their first-ever state title. He ended the 2024-25 campaign with a 9-2 record and four shutouts, a 1.43 goals-against average and a .934 save percentage. His back-to-back shutout wins over Andover and St. Thomas Academy, and a near-miss in the state title game against Moorhead, earned him a spot on the Minnesota Class AA all-state tournament team. In three years of varsity competition, he boasts 26 wins and a .922 save percentage, and also helped Andover High School take third place in the 2023 Class AA tournament.
“We had the opportunity to evaluate and be in contact with Cal during the season, and watching him take Stillwater High School on a run to the Minnesota state championship final was great to see,” said Wild director of scouting Leigh Mendelson. “Cal is an extremely athletic, competitive goaltender who plays with a lot of confidence. We are excited to watch him develop into a WHL goaltender under Coach Nachbaur and his staff.”
The Wenatchee Wild congratulate Cal Conway on signing his Scholarship & Development Agreement with the club, and proudly welcome him once again to the Wild family.
