WHERE ARE THEY NOW? – TROY LOGGINS
The Wild have historically found a wealth of hockey talent on the beaches of Southern California, including left winger Troy Loggins of Huntington Beach who played for the Wild in the 2013-14 season.
Loggins enjoyed his 18U season with the Anaheim Jr. Ducks before being recruited to join the Wild. Once in Wenatchee, he adapted quickly to the Junior A level of play, appearing in all 60 games, collecting 23 goals and 30 assists while being named to the NAHL All-Rookie Second Team. He was selected by the Sioux Falls Stampede in the 2014 USHL Entry Draft and went on to not only win the league’s Clark Cup with his teammates, he was also named the Clark Cup MVP.
Loggins played his Division I college hockey at Northern Michigan University. He played sparingly as a freshman, but made the WCHA First All-Star Team as both a junior and senior, and was named WCHA Offensive Player of the Year in his senior season (2018-19). He was also the league’s leading scorer.
At the end of his senior season, he joined the AHL’s Grand Rapids Griffins for four games, where he scored his first professional goal. The Griffins are the primary affiliate of the Detroit Red Wings, and Loggins was invited to skate in the Red Wings development camp this summer. He will rejoin the Griffins in the fall.
