A proud second-year member of the Western Hockey League, the Wenatchee Wild are continuing a celebrated WHL legacy that dates back to Edmonton, Alberta in 1996, continuing in Cranbrook, British Columbia and Winnipeg, Manitoba. These are the ICE alumni, who are now also members of the #WildFamily, making news in American pro hockey this week:
NHL
SAM REINHART, 2010-15 (45 GP, 27-24-51) – Scored multiple goals in back-to-back games for the Florida Panthers, starting with a pair of game-tying goals in the third period of Saturday’s 4-3 overtime loss to the Boston Bruins. His first goal came less than a minute into the period, while his wrist shot with less than three seconds left forced the game to overtime. Both of his goals in Monday’s 4-3 loss at the Philadelphia Flyers were go-ahead markers.
ZACH BENSON, 2020-23 (37 GP, 7-7-14) – Posted an assist on the opening goal of last Thursday’s 4-0 Buffalo Sabres shutout of the Ottawa Senators.
PEYTON KREBS, 2016-21 (42 GP, 4-10-14) – Notched assists in back-to-back games for the Buffalo Sabres, with one in the first period of last Thursday’s 4-0 shutout of the Ottawa Senators and another just 2:37 into Saturday’s 6-2 loss to the Seattle Kraken.
CONOR GEEKIE, 2019-24 (40 GP, 6-6-12) – Returned to the scoring column Tuesday with a goal in a 6-2 Tampa Bay Lightning loss at the Boston Bruins.
JACK FINLEY, 2021-22 (1 GP, 0-0-0) – Started his Tuesday in the American Hockey League with the Syracuse Crunch (10 GP, 2-4-6), but ended it with 8:25 of ice time, a shot on goal and a 3-for-5 mark at the faceoff dot in a 6-2 Tampa Bay Lightning loss at the Boston Bruins. Friday, he also picked up an assist in a 3-2 Syracuse loss to the Toronto Marlies.
When Jack Finley woke up on Tuesday, he was prepared for a typical day as a pro hockey player alongside his @SyracuseCrunch teammates in the American Hockey League.
Instead a whirlwind day ended with Finley’s NHL debut with the #GoBolts

MATTHEW SAVOIE, 2019-24 (32 GP, 10-17-27) – Picked up points in all three of his games with the Bakersfield Condors this past week, starting with an assist just 36 seconds into Friday’s 5-2 loss to the San Jose Barracuda. His assist the following night set up the game-winning goal halfway through overtime in a 5-4 victory against San Jose, and his goal early in the third period Tuesday tied the game in a 3-2 overtime loss at the Colorado Eagles.
CHASE WHEATCROFT, 2021-22 (34 GP, 6-13-19) – Had an assist in both of his road games this past weekend for the Texas Stars, starting with an assist in Friday’s 5-2 win at the Milwaukee Admirals. He added an assist the following night in Texas’s 6-1 drubbing of the Rockford IceHogs.
NOAH PHILP, 2015-17 (28 GP, 9-8-17) – Scored one of the Bakersfield Condors’ two goals Friday in a 5-2 loss at the San Jose Barracuda.
MICHAEL MILNE, 2018-22 (30 GP, 6-9-15) – Added an assist to his total during the recent west coast trip for the Iowa Wild, helping on a first-period goal in a 5-2 loss Sunday at the Ontario Reign.
LUKE PHILP, 2015-17 (29 GP, 3-11-14) – Started Saturday’s 4-2 Hershey Bears victory at the Charlotte Checkers with an assist just over four minutes into the game.
DAWSON BARTEAUX, 2019-20 (31 GP, 0-8-8) – Posted an assist in both Manitoba Moose games this past weekend at the Grand Rapids Griffins. Both assists came on the eventual game-winners, starting with Friday’s helper in the third period of a 3-2 triumph. Saturday’s assist came on the power play with just 35 seconds to go in regulation, breaking a scoreless tie in Manitoba’s 1-0 victory.
CARSON LAMBOS, 2021-22 (30 GP, 3-3-6) – Scored a goal with a minute to go in the second period Friday as the Iowa Wild scored a 5-0 shutout of the Ontario Reign.
ECHL
BRILEY WOOD, 2022-24 (32 GP, 12-14-26) – Leads the Utah Grizzlies in scoring approaching the season’s halfway mark, picking up an assist Friday in a 5-2 home win over the Kansas City Mavericks, before scoring a goal in Saturday’s 5-4 win over Kansas City.
BRETT DAVIS, 2016-19 (33 GP, 13-12-25) – Scored points in all three weekend games for the Rapid City Rush to bump up his current point-scoring streak to four straight games. His goal in Friday’s game was the lone highlight of a 3-1 loss to the Tahoe Knight Monsters, while his shorthanded goal Saturday tied the game in a 6-4 loss to the Knight Monsters. His assist Sunday came on the eventual game-winner in a 3-2 victory against Tahoe to close out the weekend.
BEN ZLOTY, 2018-23 (16 GP, 3-18-21) – Added four points on the weekend, highlighted by a goal and two assists in the Norfolk Admirals’ 10-3 walloping of the Maine Mariners on Saturday. His assist on Sunday got the Admirals off to a good start, but Maine would ultimately prevail, 5-3.
CAM HAUSINGER, 2017-19 (29 GP, 12-8-20) – Reached 100 points in the ECHL with an assist in a 2-1 Indy Fuel loss to the Iowa Heartlanders on Sunday.
EASTON ARMSTRONG, 2022-24 (34 GP, 8-10-18) – Added two goals and an assist to his total for the Atlanta Gladiators, with a goal late in the first period Friday in a 4-1 loss to the Jacksonville IceMen. At home Sunday in a 5-3 win against the Cincinnati Cyclones, he scored a goal early in the third period before assisting on the game-winner six minutes later.
OWEN PEDERSON, 2018-23 (18 GP, 5-5-10) – Picked up a goal and an assist on the weekend for the Maine Mariners, with an assist in Saturday’s 10-3 loss to the Norfolk Admirals and a goal halfway through Sunday’s 5-3 win over Norfolk.
REECE HARSCH, 2019-20 (32 GP, 3-2-5) – Scored his first goal in four weeks for the Idaho Steelheads in Friday’s 5-4 home win against the Florida Everblades.
ISAAC JOHNSON, 2019-20 (3 GP, 3-1-4) – Started his tenure with the Tahoe Knight Monsters in style, with a goal Friday in a 3-1 win at the Rapid City Rush. He followed that with three points, including back-to-back first-period goals, in Saturday’s 6-4 win at the Rush.
Also on Wenatchee’s alumni list are the standouts from its Junior A era (2008-2023) – these players laid the foundation for the WHL’s future success in the Wenatchee Valley. These are Wenatchee’s Junior A alumni who are making news in American pro hockey this week:
SAM MORTON, 2016-18/2019-20 (37 GP, 8-13-21) – Tied a career-high with three points Tuesday in the Calgary Wranglers’ 5-2 win over the Tucson Roadrunners. His goal in the game was also the winner for the Wranglers.
DREW BAVARO, 2019-20 (13 GP, 0-3-3) – Helped open the scoring with an assist just 2:01 into the Providence Bruins’ 4-1 win Friday against the Bridgeport Islanders.
DEVIN COOLEY, 2016-17 (17-7-0, 1.99) – Played 40 minutes and took the loss Friday in the Calgary Wranglers’ 5-2 loss at the Colorado Eagles.
KYLE MAYHEW, 2016-17 (34 GP, 5-26-31) – Picked up a goal and an assist for the Fort Wayne Komets in a weekend visit to the Tulsa Oilers, starting with an assist in a 3-2 comeback victory Friday. His power play goal Saturday helped the Komets to a 5-3 win.
DAKOTA RAABE, 2014-17 (29 GP, 8-9-17) – Posted assists in both of the Iowa Heartlanders’ home games on the weekend against the Indy Fuel, with two assists in Saturday’s 4-1 win and another in Sunday’s 2-1 victory. In Saturday’s game, one of the assists came on the eventual game-winner.
MARKO REIFENBERGER, 2018-19 (30 GP, 5-8-13) – Was one of 14 players to register a point in the Norfolk Admirals’ 10-3 win Friday at the Maine Mariners, with an assist.
AVERY WINSLOW, 2018-19 (29 GP, 0-8-8) – Had an assist Saturday for the Orlando Solar Bears in a 4-3 overtime win at the Adirondack Thunder.
SETH EISELE, 2017-18 (9-6-1, 2.70) – Suffered the loss Saturday for the South Carolina Stingrays in a 5-1 decision at the Jacksonville IceMen, making 21 saves.
MICHAEL BULLION, 2014-15 (6-10-2, 3.68) – Got back into the win column Sunday with 33 saves in the Worcester Railers’ 2-1 win at the Wheeling Nailers.
