A proud second-year member of the Western Hockey League, the Wenatchee Wild are continuing a celebrated WHL legacy that dates back to Edmonton, Alberta in 1996, continuing in Cranbrook, British Columbia and Winnipeg, Manitoba. These are the ICE alumni, who are now also members of the #WildFamily, making news in American pro hockey this week:
NHL
SAM REINHART, 2010-15 (57 GP, 31-31-62) – Was the only Wild or ICE alumnus active in the NHL this past week, narrowly missing a 3 Stars nod and posting three assists in Monday’s 5-3 win for Canada at the 4 Nations Face-Off in Boston. The Canadians and Americans face off for the tournament title Thursday evening at 5 p.m. Wenatchee time.
AHL
MATTHEW SAVOIE, 2019-24 (45 GP, 13-24-37) – Posted points in both of the Bakersfield Condors’ games this past weekend against a pair of Golden State opponents. His goal and assist Saturday highlighted the Condors’ 4-3 loss to the San Jose Barracuda, and he picked up an assist in Bakersfield’s 4-3 shootout loss Sunday at Coachella Valley.
LUKE PHILP, 2015-17 (39 GP, 4-16-20) – Had his first multi-point game since January 19, with two assists in Saturday’s 4-3 Hershey Bears win at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
CALE FLEURY, 2014-18 (31 GP, 6-12-18) – Returned to the stat sheet Saturday with a first-period assist in the Coachella Valley Firebirds’ 5-3 loss to the San Diego Gulls.
MICHAEL MILNE, 2018-22 (44 GP, 8-9-17) – Scored a second-period goal for the Iowa Wild in a 4-2 loss as part of a rare Monday evening home game.
JACK FINLEY, 2021-22 (21 GP, 5-7-12) – Picked up a goal Friday in a 5-1 Syracuse Crunch win at the Rochester Americans.
CARSON LAMBOS, 2021-22 (44 GP, 4-6-10) – Had a first-period assist Friday in a 4-3 overtime loss for the Iowa Wild against the Grand Rapids Griffins.
CONOR GEEKIE, 2019-24 (5 GP, 1-2-3) – Tallied a power play assist with 22 seconds left in the first period in Saturday’s 4-2 Syracuse Crunch loss at the Lehigh Valley Phantoms.
ECHL
BRILEY WOOD, 2022-24 (49 GP, 13-21-34) – Added an assist to his haul Saturday for the Utah Grizzlies, in a 6-5 overtime win over the Idaho Steelheads.
CAM HAUSINGER, 2017-19 (40 GP, 15-12-27) – Registered an assist Sunday in a 2-0 Indy Fuel win at the Cincinnati Cyclones.
REECE HARSCH, 2019-20 (34 GP, 4-6-10) – Posted an assist in the Idaho Steelheads‘ 6-5 overtime loss at the Utah Grizzlies Saturday.
ISAAC JOHNSON, 2019-20 (15 GP, 3-4-7) – Got back on the Tahoe Knight Monsters stat sheet for the first time in four weeks, earning assists in back-to-back games this past weekend. His assist early in the second period helped the Knight Monsters get on the board Friday in a 4-3 win at the Wichita Thunder, and he helped Wenatchee alumnus Troy Loggins open Tahoe’s scoring Saturday in a 9-7 loss at Wichita.
Also on Wenatchee’s alumni list are the standouts from its Junior A era (2008-2023) – these players laid the foundation for the WHL’s future success in the Wenatchee Valley. These are Wenatchee’s Junior A alumni who are making news in American pro hockey this week:
DEVIN COOLEY, 2016-17 (18-9-4, 2.33) – Is right on the cusp of his first win of February for the Calgary Wranglers, earning a standings point for his club in each of its last three games. He stopped 15 shots Saturday in a 4-3 overtime loss to the Ontario Reign, and turned aside 27 Reign chances the following day in a 3-2 overtime defeat.
KYLE MAYHEW, 2016-17 (47 GP, 9-34-43) – Saw his point streak for the Fort Wayne Komets halted at six games, but bumped up his total with two assists Sunday in a 5-0 shutout of the Kalamazoo Wings.
CHARLIE COMBS, 2015-17 (40 GP, 15-17-32) – Posted back-to-back multi-point games for the South Carolina Stingrays for the first time this past weekend, starting with three assists Saturday in a 3-1 win over the Wheeling Nailers. Against the Jacksonville IceMen on Sunday, he scored the Stingrays’ first goal before assisting on the game-winner with 46 seconds left in overtime in a 5-4 overtime victory. BRENDAN HARRIS, 2013-17 (26 GP, 10-16-26) scored the first Jacksonville IceMen goal of that same game, and added two assists of his own.
TROY LOGGINS, 2013-14 (39 GP, 17-8-25) – Hammered out five goals, including a pair of power play tallies, this past weekend in a Tahoe Knight Monsters series against the Wichita Thunder. He buried a hat trick Saturday in a 9-7 loss at the Thunder, followed by a pair of goals Sunday in a 6-3 defeat. His hat trick was only his second in pro hockey, and his first since a Slovakian Extraliga game for HC Nove Zamky in February of 2023.
DAKOTA RAABE, 2014-17 (41 GP, 9-14-23) – Posted an assist in the Iowa Heartlanders’ 4-2 Valentine’s Day victory over the Toledo Walleye.
BLAKE CHRISTENSEN, 2015-16 (26 GP, 5-8-13) – Picked up an assist for the Kalamazoo Wings in Friday’s 4-0 home win against the Bloomington Bison.
SETH EISELE, 2017-18 (14-8-1, 2.43) – Locked up his first shutout since November 1 in a South Carolina Stingrays school-day victory Wednesday, stopping 24 shots in a 4-0 win over the Worcester Railers.
MICHAEL BULLION, 2014-15 (10-12-2, 3.39) – Made 32 saves Saturday in the Worcester Railers’ 4-3 shootout victory at the Allen Americans.
