A proud first-year member of the Western Hockey League, the Wenatchee Wild are continuing a celebrated WHL legacy that dates back to Edmonton, Alberta in 1996, continuing in Cranbrook, British Columbia and Winnipeg, Manitoba. These are the ICE alumni, who are now also members of the #WildFamily, making news in American pro hockey this week:
NHL
SAM REINHART (2010-15) – Ran up four straight games with a point over the past week to build a six-game point-scoring streak for the Florida Panthers – his deflection with 1:04 left in the first period last Tuesday was a go-ahead marker in a 4-3 loss to the Boston Bruins, and tacked on an assist in a 3-2 loss to the New York Islanders on Thursday that saw the Panthers lock up their Stanley Cup playoff spot. His shot with 4:56 left in the third period Saturday against Detroit was deflected in Aleksander Barkov in a 3-2 shootout victory, and his third-period goal Monday was part of a comeback bid in a 6-4 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs. So far, Reinhart ranks second in the NHL with 52 goals on the season.
