Alumn-ICE Report: April 13, 2026

A proud third-year member of the Western Hockey League, the Wenatchee Wild are continuing a celebrated WHL legacy that dates back to Edmonton, Alberta in 1996, continuing in Cranbrook, British Columbia and Winnipeg, Manitoba. These are the ICE alumni, who are now also members of the #WildFamily, making news in American pro hockey this month:
NHL
ZACH BENSON, 2020-23 (63 GP, 12-28-40) – Is enjoying a strong finish to his third season with the Buffalo Sabres, with four points over three games this past week. His assist last Monday helped Buffalo claim a 4-2 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning and move back into the Atlantic Division’s top spot, while his two goals two nights later helped the Sabres claim sole possession of the division lead with a 5-3 win over the New York Rangers. He added an assist Thursday in a 5-0 shutout of the Columbus Blue Jackets. PEYTON KREBS, 2016-21 (80 GP, 12-27-39) added a point in each of the latter two games, including the opening goal in Thursday’s shutout victory.

BRAYDEN McNABB, 2006-11 (61 GP, 5-6-11) – Scored a second-period goal last Tuesday in the Vegas Golden Knights’ 2-1 win over the Vancouver Canucks, extending their record under new head coach John Tortorella to 4-0.
AHL
CARSON LAMBOS, 2018-23 (67 GP, 8-11-19) – Notched an assist on the first of five Iowa Wild go-ahead goals in Friday’s 5-4 win at the Rockford IceHogs.
NOAH PHILP, 2015-17 (26 GP, 7-6-13) – Went wild for the Chicago Wolves with five points in a three-game weekend, starting with a power play goal and a shorthanded marker Friday in a 4-1 win at the Grand Rapids Griffins. He scored again halfway into the first period of Saturday’s 4-3 shootout loss at the Milwaukee Admirals on Saturday, and potted the game-winning goal plus an assist Sunday in a 4-2 home victory over the Rockford IceHogs.

KENTA ISOGAI, 2023-25 (26 GP, 3-3-6) – Scored a second-period goal at home Friday in a 4-1 Ontario Reign victory against the Coachella Valley Firebirds.
ECHL
EVAN FRIESEN, 2021-25 (72 GP, 27-19-46) – Scored four goals in his final weekend with the Utah Grizzlies, in a three-game weekend set against the Rapid City Rush. Two goals came Friday in a 6-3 win, before posting two more Sunday in a 5-4 overtime loss. His game-tying goal with 1:21 remaining in regulation will go into the history books as Utah’s very last goal, as the team departs for Trenton, New Jersey ahead of the 2026-27 season.

BRETT DAVIS, 2016-19 (66 GP, 19-26-45) – Scored the lone Rapid City Rush goal Saturday in a 2-1 overtime loss at the Utah Grizzlies, Utah’s final win before its move to New Jersey.
ISAAC JOHNSON, 2019-20 (39 GP, 8-20-28) – Picked up three points in the Iowa Heartlanders’ final home weekend, all against the Indy Fuel – his third-period goal Saturday helped the Heartlanders achieve a 4-3 win over the Fuel, before posting a goal and an assist on Iowa’s first two goals in a 4-3 shootout loss Sunday.
BRAYDEN EDWARDS, 2021-22 (53 GP, 12-19-31) – Added two assists in a three-game weekend at the Reading Royals for the Wheeling Nailers. His assist Friday came in the first period of a 3-2 loss, while his assist Saturday came early in the second period of a 6-2 Nailers victory.
CAM HAUSINGER, 2017-19 (62 GP, 15-15-30) – Earned three assists in a three-game weekend for the Toledo Walleye, with two coming in Friday’s 4-3 overtime loss to the Cincinnati Cyclones. He added the third helper Sunday in a 5-4 home loss to the Fort Wayne Komets.
BOBBY RUSSELL, 2016-18 (60 GP, 5-17-22) – Notched an assist in the opening minute of the third period Friday, as the Rapid City Rush dropped a 6-3 decision to the Utah Grizzlies.
Also on Wenatchee’s alumni list are the standouts from its Junior A era (2008-2023) – these players laid the foundation for the WHL’s future success in the Wenatchee Valley. These are Wenatchee’s Junior A alumni who are making news in American pro hockey this month:
NIC DOWD, 2008-09 (73 GP, 5-15-20) – Tallied an assist on the Vegas Golden Knights’ game-winning goal last Tuesday, in a 2-1 win over the Vancouver Canucks.
DEVIN COOLEY, 2016-17 (10-10-6, 2.69) – Suffered a pair of losses this past week, making 21 saves last Tuesday as the Calgary Flames dropped a 4-3 overtime decision to the Dallas Stars, while his 17 saves were not enough Saturday in a 4-1 loss to the Seattle Kraken.
HARRISON SCOTT, 2019-20 (70 GP, 17-14-31) – Opened the Texas Stars’ scoring last Tuesday with a power play goal in the second period of a 5-2 loss to the Iowa Wild.
LUCAS SOWDER, 2016-18 (52 GP, 14-13-27) – Returned to the scoring column for the first time in April, with a third-period goal Friday in the Kansas City Mavericks’ 5-2 win at the Wichita Thunder.
MARKO REIFENBERGER, 2018-19 (66 GP, 8-8-16) – Posted points in the first two Norfolk Admirals games of the weekend at the Maine Mariners, with a power play goal and an assist Friday in the Admirals’ 6-3 loss. His second assist of the weekend came Saturday in the third period of a 7-2 Norfolk loss.

TREVOR GRIEBEL, 2018-20 (10 GP, 2-2-4) – Earned an assist in the final seconds of the first period of Sunday’s 7-4 Jacksonville Icemen loss to the Orlando Solar Bears.
MICHAEL BULLION, 2014-15 (10-9-4, 2.79) – Suffered his first shootout loss of the season Saturday, as the Atlanta Gladiators claimed a 5-4 win over the Jacksonville Icemen.
SETH EISELE, 2017-18 (17-7-1, 2.35) – Returned to the South Carolina Stingrays’ lineup after a five-week absence but took the loss Saturday, making only 10 saves on 14 Florida Everblades shots in 25-plus minutes in a 5-0 Stingrays loss.
