Brandon, MB – The Brandon Wheat Kings have acquired 19-year-old forward Landon Roberts from the Tri-City Americans in exchange for a 7th round selection in the 2024 WHL Bantam Draft.
Roberts, a native of Souris, MB has appeared in 62 Western Hockey League games for the Americans registering five points (3G-2A) and 46 penalty minutes.
“Landon provides us with another veteran forward in our group,” said General Manager Doug Gasper. “He plays hard and has a competitive nature that makes things difficult for the opposition.”
The newly acquired forward becomes the third member of the Southwest Cougars U18 program on this Wheat Kings roster, joining Owen Harris and Zach Turner. In two seasons with the U18 Cougars, Roberts scored 21 times and added 13 assists in 71 games.
Roberts is expected to arrive in Brandon later this week.
The Wheat Kings are back in action on Friday night when the Red Deer Rebels come to town. Tickets are on sale now at the Keystone Centre Box Office.
