Halloween Hockey, This Saturday
Brandon, MB – The Brandon Wheat Kings in partnership with Fowler Nissan and Grim Acres, Scare Away Cancer are excited to announce the first ever Halloween Hockey Experience, this Saturday October 30th when the Prince Albert Raiders come to town.
The Wheat Kings will hit the ice wearing special Halloween theme jerseys, that will be auctioned off with proceeds going to the Grim Acres-Scare Away Cancer initiative.
These unique sweaters were designed by Brooks Freeman Design and feature Willie as a scarecrow in a field of wheat, surrounded by jack-o-lanterns and the new black stealth Wheat King logo on the shoulder.
Grim Acres spends thousands of hours every fall, putting on one of the spookiest haunted house experiences in Westman, with all the proceeds going to the Canadian Cancer Society. Due to the ongoing pandemic, the event has been cancelled for two years in a row.
Bid sheets will be available at the East, West and South end of Westoba Place and fans will have until puck drop of the third period to place their bid.
SAFE TRICK OR TREATING
The Wheat Kings and Centreplate are teaming up for the first ever, Safe Indoor Trick or Treating event during the game. Kids will be encouraged to visit all three BWK Team Store locations and various popcorn and concession stands in their costumes and trick or treat without the hassle of bad weather or spooky neighborhoods!
Bags will be available at all three BWK store locations.
Fans will also be encouraged to sample the new Jamaican Jerk chicken sandwich, the Slap Shot sundae and the new Nacho Dog!
There will also be a $5.00 kids concession special, featuring chicken nuggets, fries and a juice box.
KIDS IN COSTUME GET IN FREE!!
All youth (17 and under) wearing a costume will receive a complimentary ticket to the game, and all other youth tickets will be just $10.00.
Youth in costume will receive a card upon entry to the arena to exchange at the Keystone Centre Box Office for a game ticket.
The kids costume contest will be held at the first intermission, while the adult contest takes place at the second intermission.
Over $750 in BWK Team Store credit will be dished out to the fans with the best costume, including two $300 vouchers!
*Reminder to fans that toy guns, knives and swords will not be permitted into the arena with the exception of light sabers*
RE-INTRODUCING CAMERON HUGHES
Veteran fan ignitor Cameron Hughes will also make his triumphant return to Westoba Place.
Hughes stop in Brandon coincides with the launch of his new book King of Cheer.
The “Superfan” will have his book for sale during the game at a table on the concourse and will be signing autographs post game.
Doors open at 5:30 and fans are encouraged to come early for BWK Beer on special for Hockey Happy Hour until 6:30.
