FLIGHT PATH | Scott King to make regular season debut as Head Coach

MOOSE JAW, Sask. – For the first time in 180 days, the Moose Jaw Warriors will take to the ice at the Temple Gardens Centre for regular-season action.

Yesterday, the Moose Jaw Warriors announced their leadership group comprising Captain Brady Ness and alternates Connor Schmidt, Colt Carter and Gage Nagel (home), and Casey Brown and Luke Moroz (away).

17-year-old defenceman Colt Carter led the Warriors through preseason with one goal and five points through four games played. Returning from a season-ending injury incurred during last year’s preseason, Luke Moroz tallied two goals and four points in five games. 19-year-old forward Noah Degenstein recorded four assists through five games played.

In a night of firsts, Scott King will coach his first WHL game as head coach, and Rob Holoien will notch his first game as an assistant coach in the WHL. Former Portland Winterhawk Griffin Darby and former Medicine Hat Tiger Jordan Switzer could both see their first regular-season action in Warriors uniforms.

Today’s festivities kick off at 3 pm with a weather-permitting outdoor tailgate featuring local food trucks, live music from Ray Rawlyk, and a beer gardens. Puck drop for the game is scheduled for 6 pm. Tickets for the game can be purchased here. Follow along with the game action with James Gallo or watch for free on the WHL’s YouTube channel.
