Round one goes Wednesday night with rounds 2-15 taking place Thursday morning.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

First Round, 20th Overall:<\/strong> RW Liam Bordt<\/em><\/p>\n

The Vees used their first pick of the draft, 20th overall, on right-wing Liam Bordt from Langley, BC. Liam stands at 5-FOOT-10, 148-pounds and registered 24 goals and 24 assists in 29 games played with NAX in the CSSHL U15 AAA league.<\/p>\n

“Liam Bordt possesses a strong combination of physicality and skill, which makes him a promising prospect in the hockey world. Bordt’s hard shot and ability to drive possession forward are notable assets, allowing him to generate scoring opportunities from distance.<\/p>\n

Third Round, 66th Overall: <\/strong>C <\/em>Tate Bergeson<\/em><\/p>\n

The Vees used their first pick of day two, 66th overall, to take centre Tate Bergeson from Moorhead, MN. Bergeson stands 5-FOOT-5 126-pounds and had 15 goals and 15 assists in 18 games with his MN Blue Ox 14 team this season.<\/p>\n

“Tate Bergeson is skilled with a dynamic playing style that makes him a threat to score. He excels at changing direction quickly and accelerating, allowing him to create scoring opportunities through clever movement and decision-making.”<\/p>\n

Fourth Round, 82nd Overall: <\/strong>C\/LW Cody Paul<\/em><\/p>\n

The Vees moved a 2026 7th Rond pick and a 2027 3rd round pick to Kamloops to move up and take C\/LW Cody Paul with the 82nd overall pick. The Colorado Springs, CO product \u00a0stands 6-FOOT-1 152-pounds and had 12 goals and 26 assists in 40 games played with the Colorado Rampage 16U AAA program this season.<\/p>\n

“This player’s skill set is marked by their intelligence and pragmatic approach on the ice. He demonstrates sound decision-making skills in high-pressure situations, often finding ways to capitalize on their opponents’ mistakes.”<\/p>\n

Sixth Round, 129th Overall:\u00a0<\/strong>C Connor Martinson<\/em><\/p>\n

The Penticton Vees made another trade into the sixth round moving a 2030 fourth-round pick to the Spokane Chiefs for 129th overall where they grabbed C Connor Martinson from Duluth, MN. Martinson stands 5-FOOT-7 140-pounds and registered 33 goals and 53 assists in 58 games with Duluth East Bantam AA this past season.<\/p>\n

“Connor Martinson presents as a well-rounded centre with a strong foundation in his game. He exhibits good balance and strength on his skates, which enables him to maintain possession and protect the puck effectively.”<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Eighth Round, 181st Overall:<\/strong> C Jake Gerstenbuhler<\/em><\/p>\n

The Penticton Vees used their eighth round pick on C Jake Gerstenbuhler from Lethbridge, AB. Gerstenbuhler stands 5-FOOT-6 139-pounds and registered 12 goals and 12 assists in 25 games with Calgary IHA Prep U15 this past season.<\/p>\n

“Gerstenbuhler’s strengths lie in his ability to create space on the ice and generate scoring opportunities through his speed and agility. He effectively applies pressure defensively and remains poised with the puck, demonstrating control and poise.”<\/p>\n

Ninth Round, 204th Overall:<\/strong> C Mason Dalbec<\/em><\/p>\n

The Vees used their ninth round pick to select C Mason Dalbec from Buffalo, MN. Dalbec stands 5-FOOT-9 141-pounds and registered 9 goals and 24 assists in 42 games this season split between MN Polars 14U AAA and Buffalo High.

“Mason Dalbec’s hockey skills are centred around his control in tight spaces, where he displays solid awareness of the game environment. He has shown an ability to capitalize on scoring opportunities, which can lead to increased offence when successful.”<\/p>\n

Tenth Round, 227th Overall:<\/strong> C Declan Champagne<\/em><\/p>\n

The Vees used their 10th round pick to select C Declan Champagne from Winnipeg, MB. Champagne stands 5-FOOT-11 147-pounds and registered nine goals and 13 assists in 23 games played with RINK Hockey Academy Winnipeg U15 Prep this season.<\/p>\n

“Declan Champagne’s skill set presents an intriguing combination of finesse and physicality. He showcases flashes of elite-level puck handling and playmaking ability, indicating potential for creating scoring opportunities.”<\/p>\n

Eleventh Round, 250th Overall:<\/strong> G Jace Zemanek<\/em><\/p>\n

The Vees wrapped up their 2026 draft selecting G Jace Zemanek in the 11th round out of Port Alberni, BC. Zemanek stands 5-FOOT-11 165-pounds and went 14-1-0 this season with Delta U15 Prep and sporting a 1.52 goals against average and a .933 save-percentage.<\/p>\n

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]The Penticton Vees announced today the signing of American forward Gavin Katz. He will join the team starting next season, his 19-year-old year.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Katz spent the 2025-26 season with the Green Bay Gamblers of the USHL registering 30 goals and 27 assists in 60 games played in the regular season. His 30 goals were tied for seventh most in the USHL.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Dellwood, MN native played four seasons with Shattuck St. Mary\u2019s prior to joining the USHL registering 156 goals and 344 points in his time with the organization.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cGavin has an elite offensive track record,\u201d said Vees head coach and general manager Fred Harbinson.\u00a0 \u201cHe produced over 300 points during his time at Shattuck St Mary\u2019s, along with being the seventh leading Goal scorer in the USHL this past season.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI look forward to working with Gavin as he takes another step in his hockey development path.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Katz stands 5-foot-9 and has been an elite goal scorer at every level of his hockey career. <\/span><\/p>\n

After Everett tied the game, Jacob Kvasnicka took a pass from Callum Stone in the high slot and fired it home for his eighth post-season goal to make the score 2-1 heading into the third period.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Everett scored twice exactly two minutes apart to give them their first lead.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Vees would pull their goaltender but the Silvertips would find the empty net to make the final 4-2.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]The Vees will look to stave off elimination on Tuesday night at the SOEC in Game 4 of the Western Conference Championship Series. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05PM.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

If you can\u2019t make it down to the SOEC, catch all the action on Victory+, Summit 800 AM and Summit 98.5 Summerland.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Series So Far: <\/b>The two teams played the opening 40 minutes quite evenly in Game 1. The Silvertips got a fortunate bounce to make the game 3-1 late and then played solid, lock-down defence the rest of the way adding an empty netter to make the final 4-1.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Game 2 saw the Vees battle back from three different one goal deficits with Ethan Weber tying the game 4-4 with 56 seconds to go to send it to overtime. It was the Silvertips who found the net on the powerplay in double OT to take the 5-4 win and 2-0 series lead. AJ Reyelts stopped 48-of-53 shots he faced in the loss.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Vees and Silvertips once again clashed in a tight battle in Game 3. Everett struck twice early in the third to take a 4-2 lead but Brady Birnie got the Vees within one with his team leading ninth goal of the post-season. Despite a handful of chances late, the Vees couldn\u2019t even the score for a second straight game and fell 4-3.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Vees Player to Watch: D Ethan Weber: <\/b>Weber<\/span> has scored in back-to-back games for the Vees in this series. The defenceman has four goals so far in the post-season to lead all Vees from the back end.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Fast Fact:<\/b> There have been three 3-0 series comebacks in the WHL with the most recent coming in Round 2 of 2023 with the Saskatoon Blades reverse-sweeping the Red Deer Rebels.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Silvertips now hold a 3-0 series lead.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Ethan Weber gave the Vees an early 1-0 lead as he found the back of the net 37 seconds into the contest.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Everett would even the score off the stick of Zackary Shantz just a couple minutes later to send it to the intermission 1-1.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It was Nolan Stevenson\u2019s turn to strike early in a period as he feathered a shot through traffic past Anders Miller for his third of the post-season to make it 2-1.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Everett would once again tie it to send the game 2-2 to the final frame.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Silvertips struck twice early in the third to take a 4-2 lead but with the goaltender pulled, Brady Birnie batted home his ninth of the playoffs to make it 4-3.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Vees had a few glorious chances to tie the game but the Silvertips hung on to take the win and the 3-0 series lead.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Series So Far: <\/b>The two teams played the opening 40 minutes quite evenly in Game 1. The Silvertips got a fortunate bounce to make the game 3-1 late, adding an empty netter to make the final 4-1. Ryden Evers scored the lone goal for the Vees, his seventh of the post-season.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Game 2 saw the Vees battle back from three different one goal deficits with Ethan Weber tying the game 4-4 with 56 seconds to go to send it to overtime. It was the Silvertips who found the net on the powerplay in double OT to take the 5-4 win and 2-0 series lead. Brady Birnie struck twice for the Vees and now leads the team with eight goals in the post-season. AJ Reyelts stopped 48-of-53 shots he faced in the loss.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Vees Player to Watch: F Brady Birnie: <\/b>The Vees forward<\/span> had a big game in Game 2 and now sits with eight goals in the playoffs. The 20-year-old CHL veteran now has 12 goals in 27 career playoff games.<\/span><\/p>\n

Brady Birnie got things started for the Vees banking the puck off of Anders Miller and in to make the score 1-0 early.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Silvertips added two of their own before the period wrapped up to make it 2-1 heading into the first intermission.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Diego Johnson answered with his second of the post-season 7:17 into the middle frame to even the game at 2-2.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Once again the Silvertips would answer and take a 3-2 lead into the third.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Vees tied it up 2:32 into the third period as Birnie went in alone on goal and flipped it high over Miller\u2019s glove for his second of the night and eighth of the post season.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

After Everett went up 4-3 and with the goalie pulled, Ethan Weber jammed home a puck in the crease to tie the game and send it into overtime.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

There was no scoring in the first overtime but following a delay of game penalty Rylan Gould potted his second powerplay goal of the night to give the Silvertips the 5-4 victory.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]The Penticton Vees fell to the Everett Silvertips in Game 1 of their Western Conference final matchup on Thursday night by a score of 4-1.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Vees withstood an early push from the Silvertips and had some chances of their own but it was ultimately Everett who found the net first, off the stick of Landon DuPont, to make it 1-0 after 20 minutes of play.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Silvertips would add to their lead in a back-and-forth middle frame to make it 2-0 heading into the final period.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Ryden Evers got the Vees on the board with a backhand shot that went five-hole for his seventh goal of the postseason to make it 2-1.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

That would be as close as the Vees would get however as the Silvertips would add another goal shortly after and pick up an empty netter to make the final 4-1.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Vees battled back from a 2-0 series deficit, winning four straight games, to take the Prince George Cougars out in six games in Round 2. Louie Wehmann was the driving force in the series picking up seven points in six games. AJ Reyelts took over in the back half of Round two with a 1-0 shutout in Game 5 and stopping 40-of-42 shots he faced in a 3-2 overtime victory in Game 6.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Now, Penticton battles the top rated team in the CHL in the Everett Silvertips who went a league leading 57-8-2-1 in the regular season and are 8-1 in the post-season so far. Everett took out Portland in four games in Round 1 and took care of business against Kelowna in five games in Round 2.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Head-To-Head<\/b>: The Vees went 1-2-1-0 against the Silvertips in the regular season. Their one victory was a 7-0 road win. The Vees and Silvertips each registered 15 goals in the season series.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
