Vees sign 2007-born defenceman Callum Stone
PENTICTON, BC – The Penticton Vees, proud members of the Western Hockey League (WHL), are thrilled to announce the signing of 2007-born defenceman Callum Stone to a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement.
“Cal quickly became a very dependable piece on our blueline as a rookie last season. He worked his way into a shutdown role and played a lot of important minutes. Most importantly, he has a great work ethic and attitude. We look forward to seeing his game take another step at the WHL level,” said Vees President, General Manager, and Head Coach Fred Harbinson.
The 18-year-old Kelowna native just completed his rookie season in the B.C. Hockey League, finishing as the team’s third-highest scoring defenceman with 17 points (4-13-17) in 51 regular season games. The 5’9”, 155-pound blueliner added two goals in 14 playoff appearances.
Stone previously spent four seasons with Rink Hockey Academy Kelowna in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League. He was selected 113th overall by the Portland Winterhawks in the 6th round of the 2022 WHL Prospects Draft.
