The Vees are back home at the South Okanagan Events Centre tonight for their 2026-27 Home Opener against the Kelowna Rockets. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00PM.

If you can’t make it down to the SOEC, catch all the action on the Western Hockey League Youtube page or on Summit 800 AM and Summit 98.5 FM Summerland.

After falling 4-1 in the season opener last Friday in Prince George the Vees bounced back in a huge way with a 5-1 victory over the Cougars the next night. Gavin Katz, Nate Pederson, Cal Stone, Tyler Deakos, Brooks DeMars and Tyden Bergeson all recorded multi-point nights in the victory.

The Vees went 5-2-0-1 last season against the Rockets. They also won the last four meetings in a row. Overall The Vees outscored the Rockets 32-22 in the season series.

Vees Player to Watch: Defenceman Gio Pantelas makes his Vees regular season debut tonight. The 18-year-old came over in a trade from Brandon this season and is a draft pick of the LA Kings. In two preseason games Pantelas had five points.

Fast Fact: Vees captain Cal Stone is one point away from 30 in his WHL career after a two point weekend last weekend in Prince George.
