The Vees return home to kick off a four game home-stand and host the Vancouver Giants tonight at the SOEC. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00PM.

It’s REMAX Coats for Kids night so if you are coming down to the South Okanagan Events Centre tonight, don’t forget to bring your new or gently used children’s coats, snow pants, hats and gloves to donate to the Boys and Girls Club Okanagan!

If you can’t make it down to the SOEC, catch all the action on the Western Hockey League Youtube page or on Summit 800 AM and Summit 98.5 FM Summerland.

The Vees looked solid in their home opener last Friday night defeating the Kelowna Rockets by a 4-2 score. They struck twice on the powerplay and went 100% on the penalty kill in the victory. The next night, in Kelowna, the Vees couldn’t get much going, falling 3-1 to the Rockets and being out-shot 38-24. AJ Reyelts had a great night in net but it wasn’t enough to stop the Rockets.

The Vees sit 2-2-0-0 on the season entering the weekend that will see the Vees host the Tri-City Americans tomorrow night for Summerland Strong Night.

HEAD-TO-HEAD: The Vees got points in all six of their meetings with the Giants last season. Penticton went 4-0-0-2 against Vancouver including registering their first ever WHL victory with a 5-1 win on night two of the season in Vancouver.

Vees Player to Watch: Forward Roberts Naudins has two goals in his last two games and has used his hulking frame to get to inside ice. With him being in his first season of junior hockey, look for him to continue to improve each and every night.

Fast Fact: Defenceman Gio Pantelas is three points away from 50 in his WHL career entering tonight’s contest.
