After Noah Davidson forced another Regina turnover at the blue line, Kor caught the puck with his back to the goaltender and still managed to tuck it in through the five-hole to make it 2-1 Tigers.

You wouldn’t be able to tell by watching his performance, but Carter Casey made his WHL Playoff debut on Wednesday night and played a big role in keeping the Tigers lead intact at the first intermission, stopping 11 of 12 shots faced.

The Tigers stepped up even more in the second period as they outshot the Pats 15-8 and added two goals to their total.

Their incredible offensive pressure took over half of the period to pay off, but it finally did when Andrew Basha sent a nice pass to Liam Ruck who quickly finished the play with authority for his first of the playoffs at 11:57.

Basha followed that play up with another amazing pass just a couple shifts later as he sent the puck from behind his own net 150-feet down the ice to Davidson at Regina’s blueline. Davidson walked in a fired a backhand shot over the goalie’s pad for the Tigers’ fourth unanswered goal at 13:21.

Regina cut the Tigers lead to two before the end of the period with Ruslan Karimov’s third of the playoffs at 15:19.

The Tigers held onto their lead through the third and final period of the game although Regina put on the pressure to try and close the gap, outshooting Medicine Hat 10-6.

Casey continued to flash the leather and stone wall the Regina offence and close out the game with 28 saves on 30 shots. His stellar performance earning him the first star of the night.

After their shut-down defence in the third the Tabbies held off the Pats to finish with a 4-2 win and take a 3-1 series lead.

Special Teams:

PP: 1/5 – 20.0%

PK: 3/3 – 100.0%

Stringam Law Three Stars:

Carter Casey (30SH, 28SV) – Medicine Hat

Ruslan Karimov (1G) – Regina

Andrew Basha (2A) – Medicine Hat

Supplement King Hardest Worker:

Gavin Kor

The Tigers will look to grab their fourth win of the series on Saturday, April 4th in Co-op Place.
