GAMEDAY PREVIEW – APRIL 8 vs BRANDON
VS BRANDON: The Medicine Hat Tigers head to Brandon to take on the Wheat Kings for the sixth and final time this season. Brandon holds the edge in the season series with a record of 4-0-1-0, with the most recent game being a 4-1 win for the Wheat Kings on February 16th in Medicine Hat. Brandon has a record of 33-25-3-2 which gives them 71 points and puts them in the fourth in the East Division and sixth in the Eastern Conference. Leading the way offensively for Brandon is Nolan Ritchie who has 31 goals and 38 assists this season. The Wheat Kings are 5-5-0-0 in their last 10, while riding a current three game win streak. Their most recent being a 5-4 win over the Regina Pats on April 5th.

LAST GAME: Medicine Hat hosted the Saskatoon Blades on Tuesday night at Co-op Place. The Tigers came out hot and had one of their best opening periods in weeks, but weren’t able to get the puck passed Nolan Maier who was on the hunt for his WHL record tying 120th career victory. Saskatoon was able to get on the board first and then sit on their lead the remainder of the game. Brandon Lisowsky (33), Egor Sidorov (22), Noah Boyko (16), and Kyle Crnkovic (38) had the markers for the Blades in the 4-0 win. Beckett Langkow stopped 20 of 24 shots sent his direction and was tabbed for the loss, while Maier stopped all 20 of the Tigers shots to earn the shutout.
MILESTONES: Tigers Forward Logan Barlage notched his 100th career WHL assist against his former team, the Lethbridge Hurricanes on February 26th in Lethbridge, and forward Carter Chorney played in his 200th career WHL Game on the same evening. Captain Daniel Baker played in his 200th career WHL game on January 21st in Saskatoon. Owen MacNeil appeared in his 100th career WHL game vs the Prince Albert Raiders the following night. Garin Bjorklund needs six appearances to reach his 100th in the WHL and Noah Danielson needs just one game to break the 100 game milestone.
PLAYER TO WATCH: Noah Danielson was drafted by the Tigers in the fourth round of the 2017 WHL Prospect draft. Since being drafted by the Tigers, the Red Deer, AB product has improved on his statistical categories each year since being in the league. Danielson has 10 goals and 12 assists in 45 games this season with the Orange Black. The 19-year-old is a natural leader on this Tigers squad, showing the younger guys how to succeed in the Western Hockey League. Danielson has a lightning release and a laser of shot that can catch tenders off guard, while being defensively responsible. Look for Noah to go head to head with his brother Nate in Brandon.
