Garin Bjorklund stopped 31 of 37 shots in the 6-1 loss. Tigers forward Ashton Ferster was able to spoil Bryan Thomson’s shutout bid with only 2 seconds left on the clock as he deflected a Logan Barlage shot past the ‘Canes keeper for his 9th goal of the season. Logan Barlage and Brayden Boehm were credited with the assists.
MILESTONES: Tigers Forward Logan Barlage notched his 100th career WHL assist against his former team, the Lethbridge Hurricanes on February 26th in Lethbridge, and forward Carter Chorney played in his 200th career WHL Game on the same evening. Captain Daniel Baker played in his 200th career WHL game on January 21st in Saskatoon. Owen MacNeil appeared in his 100th career WHL game vs the Prince Albert Raiders the following night. Garin Bjorklund needs six appearances to reach his 100th in the WHL and Noah Danielson needs just three games to break the 100 game milestone.
PLAYER TO WATCH: Pasha Bocharov was acquired by the Tigers in a deal with the Blades in January. Bocharov has proven to be a valuable asset for the Tigers on the back end, helping mentor some of the younger D-squad and eating up some very big minutes both five on five and special teams. Bocharov, a native of Escondido, CA has great vision and does well breaking the puck out of his zone. He also has an accurate hard shot that helps create offensive opportunities. Bocharov is a hard worker and that hard work has paid off on the ice as the 17-year-old has three goals and nine assists through 64 combined games.
