Washington Health Plan Finder Announces Strategic Partnership With T-Birds
Partnership Drives Awareness to Educate Families and “Young Invincibles” About New Health Coverage Options
OLYMPIA, Wash. – Washington Healthplanfinder and the Seattle Thunderbirds announced a robust partnership today to help educate T-Birds fans about the new health coverage options that are available through wahealthplanfinder.org.
The partnership will include an interactive event presence at upcoming T-Birds games such as fan engagement, signage, booth space, audio and visual announcements and marketing materials. The effort is part of a broader outreach campaign to drive awareness with young adults and parents between the ages of 18 to 34 about the March 31 deadline to sign up for new low-cost health insurance plans.
“Many residents don’t usually think they need health insurance until after an accident or illness occurs,” said Michael Marchand, Director of Communications at the Washington Health Benefit Exchange. “By partnering with the T-Birds, we can engage with fans on a local level to help make a serious message stick.”
We are looking forward to our upcoming Washington Healthplanfinder games on March 1st, 8th, and 14th. At these games fans will have a chance to learn about their health coverage options, as well as participate in fun activities and enter to win great prizes from Washington Healthplanfinder.
“We are always excited to have corporate partners that can have a positive impact on the lives of our fans,” said Jason Thomsen, Director of Business Development for the Seattle Thunderbirds. “Washington Healthplanfinder allows us the opportunity to share information about health coverage options for our fans and their families.”
The partnership also complements new advertising efforts aimed at reaching young adults. The ads feature a fictitious health care rap duo that conducts interviews with real Washington residents who signed up for health coverage through Washington Healthplanfinder and can speak about their personal experiences.
“In order to reach new audiences, we have to be in unexpected places and do unexpected things,” said Marchand. “Sporting events such as T-Birds games hit our key demographic of young adults and families who may not be aware of the new opportunities that are available through our site.”
