Pickford was drafted in the second round 38th in the 2021 WHL draft by the Seattle Thunderbirds. Pickford made his debut in the 2022 regular season playing in 2 games where he scored his first career goal against the Vancouver Giants. Pickford then went on to play in eight games for the Birds in the 2022 WHL playoffs, where his efforts helped the team reach the WHL finals year. Pickford played 54 games in the 22'-23' regular season and has been a solid staple on the blue line. Pickford is eligible for the 2024 NHL Entry draft this season.
