Hanas was signed by the Medicine Hat Tigers and made his WHL debut during the 2021 regular season playing on December 28 against the Calgary Hitman. Hanas tallied his first WHL point later in the season in another contest agaisnt the Hitman. Hanas was traded to the Thunderbirds on October 2nd in exchange for Riley Pickford and a 2025 Conditional 5th round selection.
