2019-20: Sanders had two goals and one assist in 24 games in his rookie season. He missed the first 34 games of this season with an injury. Sanders made his T-Birds debut on December 31 at the Portland Winterhawks. He scored his first career WHL goal on January 10 at Tri-City in an 8-5 win, in a game that he also had an assist in. 2018-2019: Sanders had six goals and 12 assists for 18 points in 20 games with the Detroit Compuware 14U team. Sanders took part in the team’s annual Spring Camp in Edmonton, Alberta, June 1 through June 3. Sanders signed a standard WHL player agreement with the Seattle Thunderbirds on June 19, 2018.

2017-18: Sanders appeared in 20 games for the Detroit Compuware Bantam Major AAA, in the High Performance Bantam Major League where he scored six goals and recorded 12 assists for a total of 18 points.
