The Seattle Thunderbirds and KIRO 7 Sports Director Chris Francis have partnered on a weekly hockey segment on evening sportscasts called Hockey 101.

Each week Francis and T-Birds head coach Matt O’Dette will use highlights from 2020 NHL Playoff games to educate and inform sports fans on different facets of hockey. New segments air on Fridays each week around 5:45pm and will do so until at least mid-November.

The weekly segments will introduce sports fans to aspects of hockey that include roster makeup, line changes, faceoffs, icing, offsides, penalties, special teams, coaching, hockey fundamentals, hockey terminology, position responsibilities, and player training.

When possible, Francis hopes to use 2020 NHL Playoffs highlights that spotlights WHL U.S. Division alumni.
