T-Birds head coach Matt O’Dette made presentation to Sno-King players and families
KENT, September 23, 2019 — Sno-King Minor Hockey Association held their 2019-20 Season Opener at accesso ShoWare Center on Sunday, September 22.
The event started at 8am on Sunday and featured Sno-King coaches and managers meetings, team meetings, on-ice practices, displays of two new rinks being built in Snoqualmie by Sno-King, gear and merchandise displays, a kid’s zone, elections for Sno-King Board members, and presentations from Sno-King administrators and special guest speakers.
The guest speakers included T-Birds head coach Matt O’Dette, Jon Bonnett from USA Hockey and NHL Seattle CEO and President Tod Leiweke. The presentations were MC’ed by Bill Wixey from KCPQ 13.
O’Dette talked to the Sno-King Association members about players, families and coaches all being important to the building of a team’s culture. O’Dette stressed hockey should be fun for minor hockey players while also building a team culture that provides life skills and growth for the players.
T-Birds Director of Corporate Partnerships Jason Thomsen made a presentation to Sno-King team managers about Sno-King Night at accesso ShoWare Center on Saturday, September 23, when we take on the Saskatoon Blades.
T-Birds Media Relations Director Ian Henry recorded a Top Shelf episode with O’Dette during the event that focused on the team’s relationships with minor hockey associations in the Puget Sound area and with NHL Seattle.
Sno-King Board of Directors President Doug Corley and Executive Director Doug Blanchard spoke to the members about this coming hockey season and what was coming up for the association this year. They both talked about the two new rinks that Sno-King is building in Snoqualmie that are anticipated to be open in July of 2020 and the capital campaign they are undertaking for the rinks.
All Sno-King teams are named Junior Thunderbirds.
The T-Birds next game is Friday, September 27, at 7:35pm against the Tri-City Americans at accesso ShoWare Center.
Single game tickets are on sale online on the T-Birds website and at the accesso ShoWare Center box office.
The T-Birds are now taking orders for Flex-24 Ticket packages. Fans that purchase the 24-Flex Ticket Package will be able to select any available premium seat for any game, in any ticket combination, during the 2019-20 season.
