Notre Dame Elementary 5th Grade Class in Windsor Supporting the T-Birds
Kent, May 16, 2017 – The T-Birds have advanced to the Memorial Cup in Windsor, Ontario. Our first game is Saturday, May 20, at noon against the Erie Otters. We don’t know who is more excited, us, or Mr. Bergamo’s fifth grade class at Notre Dame Elementary in Windsor. Mr. Bergamo’s class selected the T-Birds out of the entire CHL to follow and support in the lead up to the Memorial Cup.
Mr. Bergamo’s class will be at our game against the Saint John Sea Dogs on Tuesday, May 23. Mr. Bergamo supplied the team with some new photos of the congratulatory signs his class made. In the photo gallery above the last eight photos are the newest photos from Mr. Bergamo.
“From our grade 5 class of Notre Dame School, we say congratulations Thunderbirds!! We have had a fantastic time following your team winning the Western Hockey League Championship. We look forward to watching you play for the Memorial Cup in Windsor, Ontario! Go Thunderbirds!!”
We are looking forward to playing in front of our biggest fans in Windsor!
Kent, May 4, 2017 – As the Seattle Thunderbirds regular season was coming to an end and the team was beginning to prepare for the WHL Playoffs, little did they know a fifth grade class at Notre Dame Elementary School in Windsor, Ontario, was paying special attention.
Mr. Perry Bergamo’s fifth grade class at Notre Dame joined with other schools in Essex County in Ontario to select a CHL team to support and follow as the Memorial Cup is being playing in Windsor this year. Mr. Bergamo’s class selected the T-Birds.
The class reached out to the team and we were honored to learn they selected us to follow. The team supplied the class with posters, calendars, playoff logos and other promotional items. The class then set to work creating banners and signs to show their support of the team. As part of project Mr. Bergamo’s class has also been studying the history of the City of Seattle, its geography, famous citizens and industries.
The WHL Championship presented by Rogers starts Friday at the Brandt Centre in Regina. The T-Birds and Regina Pats are both going to be competing hard to win the WHL Championship and advance to the Memorial Cup. We know that this will be our toughest series yet. If we are lucky enough to be successful it is exciting to know we have a great group of fans in Windsor.
