GALLERY: T-Bird Career of Tyler Alos
It’s not often you can leave as a champion. Former assistant coach Tyler Alos is doing just that as he recently decided to pursue an opportunity outside of hockey.
Alos has been a member of the T-Birds family since he was selected in the 2008 WHL Bantam Draft. He donned a T-Bird jersey 201 times in four seasons with the team. When his playing career ended he joined the staff of Steve Konowalchuk, first as a skills coach and then as an assistant coach.
We have watched him move away from his Spokane home to join the T-Birds as a 16-year-old. We have watched him mature as a hockey player to become a great teammate who did everything he could for the team. He was a player that former head coach Steve Konowalchuk loved, so much so that Steve knew he would be an excellent assistant coach. We watched with pride when he married his lovely wife Shae. We are excited for them as they look to their future together.
Tyler was an important contributor to the T-Birds winning the first WHL Championship in team history. GM Russ Farwell told Andy Eide from 710 ESPN Seattle: “He’s developed and grown a lot over these past few years. Last year he was a real significant part and became an important piece of our coaching staff.”
Tyler will always have a special place in our heart for the person he is. We wish him and Shae all the best as they embark on a new adventure.
We love you Ally!
