Four T-Birds Headed To NHL Training Camps
Anaheim, Florida, Philadelphia and Vancouver will have T-Birds attending camps
KENT, September 3, 2013 — Seattle Thunderbirds general manager Russ Farwell today announced four T-Birds will be heading to NHL Training Camps.
The four T-Birds are defensemen Shea Theodore and Jared Hauf, center Alexander Delnov and left wing Mitch Elliot.
“The opportunity to attend a professional camp is a great experience for these players as they work to move forward with their careers,” said Farwell. “To see the intensity and attention to detail needed to play at the next level will help them and us as we head into the coming season.”
Theodore will be attending the Training Camp of the Anaheim Ducks. He leaves today for Anaheim. Theodore was the Ducks first round selection, 26thoverall, in the 2013 NHL Draft. Last season Theodore was third on the team in scoring with 19 goals and 31 assists for 50 points with 32 penalty minutes. Theodore attended Anaheim’s prospect camp shortly after the NHL Draft.
Delnov will be attending the Training Camp of the Florida Panthers. He leaves today for Florida. Delnov was the Panthers fourth round selection, 114th overall, in the 2012 NHL Draft. Delnov had 20 goals and 29 assists for 49 points last season with the T-Birds. The T-Birds acquired Delnov in the 2012 CHL Import draft with their first round selection.
Elliot will be attending the Training Camp of the Vancouver Canucks. He leaves today for Vancouver. Elliot is attending the Canucks camp as a free agent invite. Last season he played 63 games and had two goals and three assists with 147 penalty minutes.
Hauf will be attending the Training Camp of the Philadelphia Flyers. He leaves on Wednesday for Philadelphia. Hauf is attending the Flyers camp as a free agent invite. Last season Hauf had 11 assists in 72 games with 80 penalty minutes. Hauf was ranked 103rd in the NHL Central Scouting Rankings for draft eligible players in 2013. He attended the New York Islanders Prospect Development Camp shortly after the NHL Draft.
Right wing Branden Troock was selected by the Dallas Stars in the fifth round, 134th overall, in the 2012 NHL Draft. He is recovering from off-season shoulder surgery and will not be attending the Stars Training Camp.
The T-Birds travel to Kennewick for two games at the Red Lion Hotels’ Preseason Tournament at the Toyota Center. On Friday, September 6, the T-Birds will face the Tri-City Americans at 7:05pm, and on Saturday, September 7, the T-Birds will play the Portland Winterhawks at 3:00pm.
The T-Birds close out the preseason schedule with a home-and-home series against the Everett Silvertips. The T-Birds visit Everett on Friday, September 13, for a 7:35 puck drop against the Silvertips. The T-Birds then make their only pre-season appearance at ShoWare Center on Saturday, September 14 for a 7:05pm contest against the Silvertips. Single game tickets for the home preseason game will go on sale in August.
The T-Birds will drop the puck for the 2013-14 regular season against the Portland Winterhawks at ShoWare Center on Saturday, September 21 at 7:05pm.
T-Birds single game tickets for the 2013-14 season are available online at the T-Birds website and at the ShoWare Center box office. The ShoWare Center Box Office is open Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday game days at 10 a.m. and Sunday game days at noon.
